I much prefer the idea of a lengthy enough 'starter's tutorial' to help noobs and also discourage griefers.

EDIT: Also remove quantity vs quality, that is very misleading.

+1 for the whitelist. I remember when I joined when there were only 64 slots and whitelist took a day or two to get updated by deity personally. Literally 0 issues with griefers anywhere.

Whitelist?! All the servers I have been on with whitelist are usually full of noob hating admins. From my long time spent on this server i see no need for a whitelist and I don't know why u guys hate noobs so much, u where all them when u started and to prevent noobs is to prevent the progress of this server. In short I vote NO for the whitelist.

Just an fyi, admins+ whitelist is not automaticly noob hating, nor admins - whitelist= no noob haters... that's a random thing ;p. A whitelist is not to prevent new players, but noobs (in this case: idiots).

Also you've been on since the end of november, i've been on since may, don't talk about being on the server for a long time ;p...

But we're getting a greylist now, so im happy;)

But they are simple, its just answer some questions and wait from a few hours to 1 day to get whitelisted, but anyway, a noob world would be great to have

Dear community. For the record, noobs != idiots. Idiots suck, but might have been playing a long time and know what they're doing. That doesn't stop them from being idiots. On the other hand, noobs can sometimes be sweet, lovely people who will grow into future contributors of greatness, but just don't yet know everything you know. Everyone had to start somewhere, once!

There, ok, I feel better now :)

Whitelist doesn't prevent new people to join, yet it disencourages the cheap griefers and thieves, who come on and do something jail/ban-worthy within the first moment they can.....

But like i said we're already working on something new, not a whitelist, but it will prove to be good!

i read the grey-list post and that is exactly what i think should be done. it discourages the non-serious player and can at least keep noobs who really want to progress past the fact of being new

Why would you want to play minecraft as something serious? It's a recreational game. What is the point in turning away 'non-serious' players?

I support the whitelist, one major bonus that I can think of is that there would be much less grief to the mining world and it wouldn't be dry within a month.

a whitelist does not mean quality players, i am a quality player i vote every day or every 2nd day, but if i see a whitelist i just keep scroling to the next server

In this case 'non-serious' players can be defined as the griefers and trolls that get off on ruining the 'serious' players fun on the server.

Whitelists constrict the flow of new players into the server. and drive away some players, so i do not support this ideao_O
