I had an interesting idea today while thinking of writing contests from the past. It is absurdly easy for me to self publish books. I can do it for free, and I know there are other writers on the server. It would be very easy for me to take a collection of stories written by the community and, with the help of someone who can use Photoshop or a similar program, make a physical book out of it. It could be sold on the website, to the community, probably for less than $10. I could set it up so all proceeds go to the server. It wouldn't be much. But it could be a fun project. How I'd suggest going about it: Put out a call for writing along a certain guideline, with a due date. Writing must be related to Imdeity, whether about a character, an event, or even just about your time here. Past submissions could be used. Writing must be first or third person; I/ He/ She/ We 1000 words or less. Perhaps fewer. Month long submission period The publishing process Stories could be edited by the writer, myself, or server staff. I can collate and format them into a document ready to be submitted to the publishing site Someone with image editing skills can design a simple (or not) cover within the set dimensions. This is the trickiest part in my experience. I submit all the files to Lulu.com, the site I use for publishing. I'd have to have a conversation with the staff and/or deity himself about that process so I could set him up as the owner of the book. Let me know what you think! I could even turn the server rules/ guide into a book this way.
