I'm going to try and formulate some topics to help less experienced members navigate, construct, and run their factions. I will start off with a basic outline and ways to use specific functions of the faction system to help players create factions before they fail multiple attempts.

If you are going to start a faction (be warned) it can be very difficult depending on what you want to obtain with your faction. Follow these guidelines and you will have a tremendous factions that can fend off factions like dMeat and Dunamas (I use these two factions b/c I belong to Dunamas and dMeat are our rivals)

Before creating a faction know what the commands are to running it.

    Commands: Basic -> Advanced
    • /f help (/f h) will give you the list of all the help commands on page 1.
      • /f help,h,? [page=1] display a help page
        /f list,,ls [page=1] see a list of the factions
        /f show,who [faction tag=yours] show faction information
/f power, pow [player name=you] show player power info
        /f join <faction name> [player=you] join a faction
        /f leave leave your faction
        /f c,chat [change chat mode
/f home teleport to the faction home
    • /f help 2 (/f h 2) will give you the list of all help commands on page 2.
      • /f create <faction tag> create a new faction
/f desc <desc> change the faction description
/f tag <faction tag> change the faction tag
/f open [yes/no=flip] switch if invitation is required to join
        /f invite,inv <player name> invite a player to your faction
        /f deinvite,deinv <player name> remove pending invitation
/f sethome [faction tag=mine] set the faction home
    • /f help 3 (/f h 3) will give you the list of all help commands on page 3.
      • /f money (use this command to see all economy commands)
    • /f help 4 (/f h 4) will give you the list of all help commands on page 4.
      • /f claim [faction=your] [radius=1] claim land where you are standing
/f autoclaim [faction=your] auto-claimland as you walk around
/f unclaim, declaim unclaim the land where you are standing
/f unclaimall, declaimall unclaim all of your factions land
/f kick <player name> kick a player from the faction
/f mod <player name> give or revoke moderator rights
/f admin <player name> hand over your admin rights
/f title <player name> [title=1] set or remove a players title (player titles are just for fun. No rules connected to them) *other than non-family-friendly rules per deities rules*
    • /f help 5 (/f h 5) will give you the list of all help commands on page 5.
      • /f map [on/off=once] show the territory map, and set optional auto updates
/f noboom (doesn't pertain to regular pvp members)
/f owner [playername=you] set ownership of claimed land
/f ownerlist list owners of this claimed land.
Claimed land with ownership set is further protected so that only the owners, faction admin, and possibly the faction moderators have full access.
    • /f help 6 (/f h 6) will give you the list of all help commands on page 6.
      • /f disband [faction tag=yours] disband a faction
/f ally <faction tag> set relation wish to another faction
/f neutral <faction tag> set relation wish to another faction
/f enemy <faction tag> set relation wish to another faction
Set the relation you WISH to have with another faction. Your default relation with other factions will be neutral. If BOTH factions choose "ally" you will be allies. If ONE faction chooses "enemy" you will be enemies.

You can never hurt members or allies.
You can not hurt neutrals in their own territory.
You can always hurt enemies and players without faction
Damage from enemies is reduced in your own territory.

When you die you lose power. It is restored over time.
The power of a faction is the sum of all member power.
The power of a faction determines how much land it can hold.
You can claim land from factions with too little power.

Only faction members can build and destroy in their own territory.

Usage of the following items is also restricted: Door, Chest, Furnace, Dispenser, Diode.
Make sure to put pressure plates in front of doors for your guest visitors. Otherwise they can't get through. You can also use this to create member only areas.
As dispensers are protected, you can create traps without worrying about those arrows getting stolen.

I put a line through these last few sentences b/c they do not currently necessarily apply to deities pvp. I kinda would like to see it implemented though or the rules in the server /f h commands changed to fit with deities server.

I will likely add more to this down the road. But, this is a good start. All the following information can be found in the server with the /f help commands. VERY HELPFUL

    Building: Basic Defense

Okay, so I went over the basic commands which wasn't that difficult I mainly copied the commands accessible by /f help. But, now I will attempt to address the most basic defense set up. I recommend you start here and as you learn the physics and dynamics of the faction server to then progress into more advanced designs.

Assuming that you are a brand new faction with limited materials (no obsidian yet) I can help you get started, now pay attention!

There are a few ways you can go about designing your base. The most effective way to defend your base currently is to build it underwater. You want to build the base in a way that you have a water wall around the entire base (top, bottom, sides)

Claiming: I am assuming you know how to claim by reading the first section of this guide. If you do not know how to claim please re-read.

Lets say your brand new. Have minimal money and can only afford 1 plot. That's okay, you can still have a fairly defend-able base with one plot if you pay close attention to these points of interest (POI).

    • Your base is built underwater
    • Your base is built 1 (or more) blocks away from the wilderness. (you can see if your base is in the wilderness or not by swimming to the edge of your plot "till it says wilderness" then adjust your building from there) This is important! If your base is touching the wilderness or worse... ON IT!!!! You can be blown up easily and all your valuables taken without much effort on the attackers part.
    • Your base is built 1 (or more) blocks from the surface or water bottom. (just as important as the previous POI)
Okay, so now you have a nice box. Preferably with 1 entrance (you'll probably want to block it with dirt and have some sort of breathing station outside of the base so you do not drowned getting into the base)

And this is a simple base. Your most basic design with a high defensibility. When you begin to obtain materials you can expand this base (by claiming more land) as well as implement techniques and attributes that make your base unique and creative.

*REMEMBER THIS* - Your chests are always accessible by enemies. So place a block (dirt, snow, sand) any regular block avoid slabs and stairs as they do not always provide protection.

Likely more advanced building techniques will be addressed as this guide progresses.

This Guide is a work in progress. If you have something to add to the guide please contact me and if its well written (or something I can edit easily) I will add it to the discussion!

lol. I keep getting raided because i refuse to make a impenetrable base. The world loses alot of its fun if you know that your stuff is safe. Of couse that means factions that actually have gear simply stroll in and nab all my things. The only thing that annoys me is that when fusion does it they keep trying to sell my things back to me. I keep telling them that they didn't steal anything that I can't harvest or make again... spammed over junk. so annoying.

Also you should make a note to be careful who you let into your faction. right off the bat I got raided by a person I let into my faction. his sister was in my faction so i figured that he wouldn't do it and that i could trust him. didn't stop him...

PVP server exposed many hackers, and created hatred between people. Never going back to it :/

You know that you wrote "please" with a mistake?
And I don't think it will happen, as we have the PvP server.

If you want, you can still do a suggestion in the suggestion thread, be sure no one already used this idea, and doing what you just did won't really help the subject.

I disagree. Lava would just be a pain in the neck.

Lava leads to rashes, the ones that we get from irritation of others just creating an uglier world than what it already is, since people already use it as a mining area and unbrainly area to create a villa.
