[5]: Screenshots: (below) [6]: Coordinates: (x,y,z) 278.3, 108.5, 2134.5 At the Dias Storyboard. 272.2, 195.0, 2134.5 On top of the head.
[7] Additional info: Thanks to Rihue & RLindsey2 for suggestions and some mats. Used over 120 stacks of Stone, Smooth Stone, Stone Slab, Chiseled Stone, End Stone, Nether Brick, Netherrack, Obsidian, Wool, Lapis Lazuli Blocks, Glow Stone, and Ice. About 2 weeks of construction (approx 16 hours game time.) The Guardian stands 85 blocks tall, the sword is 56 blocks tall, and the top of the head is at elevation 195. Hard to see all of it unless you can fly or ar at a distance. Made it this big to be able to add some detail and be seen on the Live Map.

Wow. It looks like a lot of effort and planning has gone into building this. I would say that it is great.

    Amazing job.

Absolutely fantastic. Is it hollow for people to go inside of it? That might be fun. Ill defiantly be checking this out very soon.

    Great work.

Thank you both. It is hollow everywhere except the lower legs and forearms. I am going to put a room in the chest with a lift up for access. From there, I plan on a spiral stair leading into the head.

Title: Great Construction Submission by: Micklen; 2nd Construction
    [1]: IGN: Micklen
[2]: Structure Name: The Frozen Heroine
[3]: Structure Story: Once a sleepy village grew up next to a lake. The lake shimmered with iridescent beauty and was bountiful with fish. Tule, a young woodworker, discovered the magic behind the lake one summer's eve when he fell asleep by the water's edge. Awakened by the sound of a light rain, Tule blinked his eyes to clear the sleep. He discovered not rain falling from the sky, but drops falling from the ethereal body leaning over him. At first afraid, Tule leaped away and the nymph retreated to the deeper parts of the lake. Sensing no threat from this creature, Tule slowly approached the bank again. The nymph again approached him, and spoke! In musical tones, the fairy kin welcomed Tule and asked curiously about the wondrous 'humans' and their strange dwellings. The evening grew long and dawn appeared while the two conversed. Parting with the rising sun, Tule went home thinking of his new friend, Nyrei. As these things go, the tale quickly ran through the village. Other sightings of Nyrei were reported and many people spent hours trying to catch a glimpse of her. No matter what was offered or time spent, the only one Nyrie ever spoke to was Tule. Over time their love became apparent. Nyrie became more accepted by the village and they took care to keep her waters clean. She rewarded the village with small ‘miracles’. Coaxing nourishing rains for the crops and reigning in the heavy storms of the winter.
One particularly bad season, the winds blew extra hard and the freeze was the coldest anyone could remember. A wandering spirit had happened upon the town. A being of frost and cold, its’ power had grown over years of tormenting the upper steppe with powerful blizzards. It took great delight in tormenting tiny villages such as this one and brewed up a terrific storm. Sensing the village’s plight, Nyrie drew herself up from the cold lake and confronted the storm spirit. Affronted at the impetuousness of the nymph, the spirit prepared a blast to decimate the village. Nyrie gathered all of her might and lifted herself to intercept this deadly gale. Reaching out to strike, she countered the spirit but knew it was too little. Feeling her strength ebb away she drew in as much of the spirit’s storm as she could. The spirit gleefully poured more force into the blast at first. Glee quickly turned to fear as the creature realized its’ own power was beginning to dwindle. Channeling the cold down into herself, Nyrie continued to draw more even as the spirit sought to withdraw. With a roar the winds snapped and the sky cleared. Left were a quiet, cool breeze and an ice formation, standing high above the waters. The danger was gone, but so too was the Nymph.
The village built a shrine around her and left devotions. It continued to grow and prosper. Over time it became a thriving city and the ‘Ice Statue’ became just another part of history. But one person could not forget. Tule had seen the way his love had defended her adopted home. He had lost his love but he resolved to defend her forever; and to guard their home, their Caldera.

[7] Additional info, such as: List of items used, possible helpers. 36 Ice Stacks, 30 Stone Slab Stacks, 11 Birch Slab Stacks, a handful of stacks of Glowstone, Snow, Stone Bricks, Stone, Netherrack, Fencing, Leaves, Oak Blocks, and Water.

(Additional note found scrawled on back of Monument, "She melts! She melts! Will she come back? Is she truly gone forever? Will she be happy for our shrine? Happy that we encased her in stone? Happy we made a wading pool from what may be her lifeblood? Perhaps we should not have turned the platform into a cafe? Do you think she likes organic food?"

I can personally attest to the time, effort and money buying materials that micklen has put into these 2 builds. He has spend the time online that he states, probably more than what he says. Both of these builds are shown on the new scenic monorail route (That micklen also worked on). Keep up the great work micklen!

Both of these buildings are AMAZING. I can't begin to imagine how much time and recsources went into them, and how much planning it took(surely you didn't just make them up as you went along). You now have my ever lasting respect. Keep the amazing buildings coming.

Wow. Stumbled upon this thread looking for examples of 'Great Constructions', and had to comment, this is one of the nicest builds I've ever seen. Great!

Yeah, the live map doesn't do it justice. You really need to stand in front of the structure at about mid-height to 'see; the sculpture. Minecraft Ice is hard to work with because of it's partial transparency.
