Idk. I thought some players would realize that Mods are people too, but the fact of the matter is the mods and players will always have a disconnection

seeing as half the thread isn't really relevant to the point you were making at all (and even the "No" votes on the poll aren't serious) i think this discussion's petered out

Nah there's this one guy, smcallah or something. He made a joke with me one time but I got really mad at him because everything about this server is really serious and should never be taken lightly, and I've hated him ever since.
0/10 please demote and replace with me

Mods shouldn't mingle too often with players. It causes problems. That's about all I have to say on the matter.

I agree and disagree. Mods are players just as we are, they just have more responsibility. They should not be limited to just being mods, if they want to hang out and talk with a group of players they call friends they should be able to. However that is the cause of issue when a player or group are never able to get a Mod's attention because they are having fun. If the mod can find a balance of leisure and moderating then perfect, but we should NOT limit a mod from being a player just because they have the tag.

While yes I will agree that there has been drama on the server as of lately, it isn't without reason. I've been seeing the staff of the server get a lot of blame for either allegedly antagonizing players, or being too quick to take action without proper reason, or a myriad of other things. However, what I feel many people seem to be forgetting is that there isn't flexibility to the rules that are enforced. They're there, they've always been there, and they're there for a reason. The staff are in such a position because Deity has trusted them to take action on rule breaking, big or small, at their discretion. Whether they are respected by the players or not doesn't change the fact that they are going to enforce the rules whether the majority of the player base likes it or not.

With that, respect is earned, not given freely. If players are continuously acting out towards the staff or trying to start things that will cause a ruckus for the staff to deal with, respect was not earned, therefore isn't given. The staff are very respecting of the players until they prove they do not deserve it. The staggering amount of back-talk, sass, and disrespect displayed by some players in regards to the staff is unbelievable in my honest opinion. It almost requires the staff to have an iron fist at the ready at all times, otherwise there are some players that will take advantage of lenience.

When it comes to suggestions, though, many of the things that players are bringing up have been brought up before. It's quite tiring to cite every thread/post discussing said suggestion(s) every time something that has been discussed/turned down is resuggested. If the players decide not to use the handy-dandy search bar that's been there for four years, that's on them, not the staff. There are many suggestions that players have made that are currently in use on the server. ( http://imdeity.com/forums/approved-suggestions.28/ ), along with many others that aren't noted that have simply just been included in small updates ( http://imdeity.com/forums/dev-blog.32/ ). Good suggestions are recognized, bad/stale suggestions are shot down. Simple as that.

I can see why a good portion of the player base assumes that the staff is out to get them, however if the rules are followed and drama isn't started and the players don't stress the mods to their last straws, it makes the players' experience much more satisfying.

21 out of over 2,300 isn't a very good track record of accepting player's ideas. That's roughly over .009% that's one one-thousandth of one percent

"Well half of those posts are noobs who don't use the search bar" - Something you could counter with.
So let's say 21 out of 1,000 = .021% still, only two hundredths of one percent.

"well even half of those are dumb suggestions, only some are feasible"
Well, 21 out of 500 is only .042%. So, as long as that suggestion forum has been alive under one half of one percent of all suggestions have ever been implemented. In my eyes, that's not a very good track record of taking player input.

Just because people suggest something, doesn't mean it has to get implemented.

While true but also just an opinion hear and there from a player wouldn't hurt. I know we have the suggestions tab in the forums but honestly not many people want to comment there. Listen Mods and Players don't have a connections like player to player do. Maybe if the Mods and players had a connection then some opinions wouldn't start an uprising.
    With all do to respect.

This thread and also the other thread has very many key points that has dragged down Imdeity. I love this server so much, but it isn't what is used to be.

If players don't want to use the tools given to them to get suggestions across in an organized fashion, then they're the ones to blame, not the staff. When proper and thorough suggestions are made to improve the server as a whole, they are properly discussed. You can't expect proper recognition when you mention one idea in game one time, then get upset that nothing is done about it. The tools are given to the players to contribute to the server. It's quite easy. Also, you seem to be implying that the staff are not players. You say that "Mods and Players don't have a connection like two players do". Mods are players, however they're trusted with the responsibility to bring important information to Deity and to keep our server family-friendly, not to sit around and try to appease the masses. If you are passionate enough about an idea on the server, make a proper suggestion thread. It will then be discussed and will either be shot down or implemented, but just because you have an idea doesn't mean it's going to be added to the server. If that were the case, we'd be like all of those cash-flow based minigame servers that there are already hundreds of. We are not a revenue based server, we never have been, and never will be.

The server isn't what it used to be because it's grown better, the game has updated and the server has updated to accommodate those changes. Our player base changes, the staff then must adjust how they handle situations. I'm well aware the server used to be much different and that the staff used to be much different, but it's when people started acting out more that the iron fists from the staff came out. If you want friendliness, your peers must reciprocate.

I honestly couldn't agree more. But even if the players started behaving Imdeity wouldn't go back to the way it was. Overtime we age & mature in different ways which has an effect about how we go about on the server.

Somehow the Mods and other Deity staff will have to adapt to that.

What's there to adapt to then? You're not making much sense.

Anyways, another main reason the server isn't what it used to be is because Deity stopped advertising the server. It costed too much, quite simple. I know that players are going to respond to this and say "Oh, then start advertising again.", but then arises the issue of who would pay for it, and the fact that Deity may or may not want advertising for the server anymore. There are more facets to player conflicts and inactivity than a lot of people aren't considering because they're too quick to make assumptions.
