Since when are computers allowed in school? (Or is it a school P.C.?)

I bring my laptop to every class, I go to a "special" school. We are 9 in the US and most of us bring our computer for our classes.

My school provides us all with macbook airs that we can take home and use in class and stuff

Okay.. Well I myself use a laptop in university, however we never allowed to have one in high school (with which I agree). ;)
