How do you feel about the indiscriminate reaping of ImDeity's natural landscapes...?

  1. It's an outrage! Someone must stop them! I will join you in your crusade!

But we also add nice builds like cobble + wood + glowstone towers and stuff. We just fixed up a griefed tower earlier, so if that ends up getting griefed then that person will be banned.

Nobody needs to strip mine in main. no ores so just go to mine and bring your stone and ores back with you. job done, and no one gets broken legs.

As for not maintaining the natural trees and forests, that is sheer laziness and if you cannot replant a tree then dont harvest it.

It is pretty funny really, think about IRL how people remove trees without replanting. We see the effects worse because trees take so long to grow in the real world. So if you cut down a minecraft tree without replanting it, you are basically saying "i was born to be lazy and harmful to the planet"

i never thought i would be a minecraft eco warrior

btw periodic regeneration! i love it!

    Hi all,

There seems to be a bit of confusion over my original post. I suggest some people reread it please, slowly.

I have not suggested bans, temp or otherwise, nor punishments for noobs.
I did not suggest that Mods/Admins enforce any of my suggestions, as they are, indeed, suggestions, and Mods/Admins are already very busy.

What I did ask for, was for you, the players that are involved in the community, to first be aware of this spreading menace, and then take the concept and ideals of Keep ImDeity Beautiful into your respective towns and kingdoms, BUT only if you wanted to.

I already clean up the area around my little haven, replanting trees, spreading forests and general landscaping as to make it seem more 'natural'.

Vershye - If you want to form up a group that goes through and replants the forests, removes the 1x1 towers and fills in the 1x1 holes, go ahead and do so.
This. This had gone through my mind, and I had thought about suggesting it but was cautious as it appears there is resistance to doing 'extracurricular' activities with 'no reward'.

Melvin484 - Dont worry, me and bethh and minibride have started the Wild Restoration Project! We will try to clean up /wild by cleaning up dirt towers, fixed the ground, made pools, and even fixed up a dirty garden and turned it beatiful!
This is what I like to hear.

As I had said, the power is yours...

    Many thanks,
    Seph

We can do multiple things. You don't need the wild if you have a town, for example. Build your own wild in the town, or have your town be the wild. Although I have my doubts about this, Melvin is doing work restoring the wilderness. The admins encourage that you do not destroy the wilderness and instead go to the mining world. But other than that, above all, the most important thing to remember is that you should not try to solve problems that do not bother you. If you're like me, and only care about your area, then why care about the others? Everyone can solve their own problems. If there's a patch of dirt missing, someone can patch that up if you care about that land.

What a shame, that looks like it'd be a really nice waterfall without all of the towers.

Now if only there was a way to enable mayors to have //regen in minute sections all your problems would be solved :)

On separate notes I'm both guilty of destroying the landscape IE, I'm I need 4 more stacks of oak and I just so happen to be standing near an oak forest on /main. I know I'm evil.

I'm also apparently the only one sinister enough to vote for option 3.

Many servers I have been in specifically have rules against "floating trees" and "visual griefing" (i.e., stupid-looking pillars). I like this rule, and I would support the implementation of such a rule.

I like the concept of the Wild restoration Project due I've mine share of floating forests around home to shutdown, maybe a restorated tower on the wild can be a nice landmark for newbies, preventing them to build cobble towers, or not, we have lots of possible "Landmarks" and some newbies still prefer to have their very own cobble tower.
Anyway, keep in mind that repairing the wild it's a vicious circle, newbies will keep destroying wild plots as you repair the others especially these near the /wild ports, even if there's a sign or something showing that it's a restorated area.

If this was followed thorough by the more wealthy residents of our fair server maybe we would get somewhere since they could pay noobs to walk around and fill in holes and destroy old structures.

Great to see that people feel the same way. Nothing pisses me off more then a floating forest or random holes in the landscape
/mine is the place to do this keep it there. (even then i leave the mining world looking decent )
