    Notch just submitted a game to this year's Ludum Dare, a game designing competition where challengers must fabricate a fully functional game in one weekend. This year's theme is "alone". I was hanging out in Notch's stream as he coded the entire thing. Needless to say, he's a pretty fast coder and it's been a pleasure to see how a real pro does it.

    The game is pretty straightforward. There are stairs going up and down scattered throughout the world. Access to stairs going up require pickaxes made of ore that can only be found underground. Be sure to bring a lantern.

    Also, there is no save function.
