War Food Suggestion

    So I've played War plenty of times and enjoyed it. But there's one thing that really annoys me and probably other players. I suggest that maybe more apples or food should be added to war. I always end up running out of food and what with all the running and fighting my hunger drops fast and I lose sprint and then die faster. So maybe more food could be added or food that fill the bar up more. Not a lot of food where we never lose bars but at least enough to last us a considerable amount of time. Other then that War is great.

    I believe the entire point to having limited amount of food is so that people cannot survive forever. I personally enjoy the way it is right now where no one person can maintain their hunger for extended periods of time.

    Yea but it would make the game funner not having to die of starvation or lack of sprint. And eventually the apples would run out eventually. Just not as quickly as before

    Just have to think a little more strategically instead of sprinting everywhere.

    But it's not just mainly sprinting. It's just when players are doing really good or on a spree and all, they lose sprint cutting down the survival rate by a lot. Strategy could work but some players just do hit and runs and even some strategies require some sort of run.

    But, it makes it so you cant hide in a hole and regen, having unlimited apples would make scout even more op..

    Really, it's healing that's the issue - even if you don't sprint everywhere, it's nearly impossible to go thru any significant length of time without dying/losing regen (which should be a difficult, but not nearly impossible feat) due to the fact that you have to waste 2-3 apples at the beginning of a game.

    Yea I guess. It's mainly just what Dragon said. It regens health. Even if we started off full hunger at the beginning, the lack of food for regening health is still a annoying issue. Maybe it could be where for every kill we make we get another apple so then it kinda motivates players to get kills so they can increase their survival/health rate.

    I agree. There should be more food and like what moneymankillz said, we should start with full hunger. :)

    The matches are only 15 minutes in length maximum whether or not enough kills were made. So I don't really see a point in trying to prolong it. War is designed to be a fast paced, kill or be killed game. The same reasoning is behind the PvP events. If you have people constantly regenerating their health, there would be more people hiding than fighting and the rounds would get long and boring.

    I was playing yesterday, and i survived for quite some time and low and behold i had more apples in my inventory, and i am fairly certain that i didnt die in between.

    I dont like having to eat apples at the start, due to loud noise when its a server war,but the rest of the war setup is fine. it works just how it should, and this is backed up by its not always the same old players getting mvp, you also see some unlikely players get mvp also.

    So, I will throw my 2 cents in this: yes, apples don't last much, but it was ok before 1.7. The things is this: food and hunger bar consumption was changed in the last update making saturation much shorter and hunger bar duration much shorter too. Also, as Dragon stated, healing drains a lot of health out of our porkchop line.

    I also made some tests myself and sprint jumping in minecraft 1.7 lasts less than a half of the time than 1.6; I don't know if the bugged version is this or the old one, but still, some players felt the difference. I sprint a lot on main just because I like it and noticed right away that the hunger bar lasted way less than before, seen the same in single player and on some forums.

    Thus, I think that changing our food in war or adjusting it just a bit to fit the saturation changes would be ok.

    Is it possible for enemies to drop food, like watermelon or cookies? Not as effective as apples, but gives some sustainability with rewarding the player for being up in the fight.

    Yeah before the new update everything was fine in War. But after update, Hunger depleted so much more quickly alas, leading to this thread. So like Sonny said, if there's a way to maybe config it or something then no extra food or anything would have to be added in to fit standards.
    That's what I suggested but that might make the game a bit long for 15minutes cause everyone who gets a kill could just regen their health and just about everyone gets kills, like what Vershye said. The game would just continue on and get boring eventually.

    How many people regularly have a 1.0 ration for their k/d? I'd like to think I am an adequate player (garnering a few kill streaks) but still fall around 0.87.

    Plenty of people. I have about a 1.3 or so, and it would be higher but my internet sucks :/ kdr doesn't necessarily reflect skill, though, as damage dealt is not equal to kills.
