Choose land and have a row of dirt then next to it a row of water ETC. until you run out of land (that you want).

    1. Keep it in the sun.
    2. Keep it near water.
    3. Observe and Farm!
    4. (Most important Rule) Don't forget to replant the trees! Good luck

separate trees with two blocks in-between them, make the ceiling 9 high so the trees don't grow so high you have to climb, trees need at least two between them and the wall, bury a jakolantern or glowstone next to each sapling and you need no other light.

BTW, this is just for the fastest and most efficient. I have seen youtubes of growing a gree right next to a 1x1 tower and through rings. I have seen youtubes of growing trees with only spacing enough so that the tree gets light so you can place them right next to eachother.

Water doesn't matter, Just keep atleast 2 blocks between the trees, this allows for all trees to be able to grow as long as they don't grow into HUGE trees.

Just go and kill a ton of skeletons and take their bonemeal, right click the trees and they will be big real quick, just remember to get all the saplings.

The space depends on what kind of trees you are farming.

If you are farming oak trees, the 3-4 spaces are good just in case you get the big trees with branches, but if you are doing pine or birch trees, then 2 spaces is all you need between them. I have a very successful tree farm in Vienna that only has 2 spaces between every tree and 1 torch by every tree for them to grow. I'll try to get you a screenshot tonight as an example of how mine is set up.
