alright, another pet poem, I guess you already have guessed the end, enjoy!

I'm still grieving over my dead cat,
but thats ok, I have an new pet!
His body is like a green hard hat
this is my new turtle, boba fett!

    I love him so much,
because it is hard for him to die
his hard shell makes him almost invulnerable to every touch
    sometimes, I feed him lettuce-pie

also, because of his slow speed,
    he won't get far
I will always catch up to him, yes indeed.
He can also be used as a coaster in a bar!

I like him because he'll never act bold
that's why I love my turtle friend
Also, since he gets so old,
He'll stick to me until the end

but one day, in my yard, a huge mob flocked
and when I got to the middle of the group,
    I was unbelievably shocked
there stood a pot, brewing turtle soup.

    Humanity

from the spawn that we made
    so long ago
    an origin in time
    forever unknown

through the days that we watched
    all the fears go away
with the love in our hearts
    keeping demons at bay

    with dreams of the stars
and the hopes in our soul
    we continue to search
    for what makes us whole

    the knowledge we seek
    to nurture and grow
for a life that we love
    but wont ever know

    through the ages we rage
    bloody sword in our hand
    we slayed them all
    to call it our land

    now wars for the hate
    of religions so true
    are fought by the nations
    imprisoning you

    with hands on our hearts
    and fear in our eyes
    like puppets on strings
    with masters despised

    through devils and dust
    to the most holy reach
    guides of our soul
    salvation beseeched

I spent a few days deciding if I wanted to post this or not.. Mostly because I don't put my poetry out without putting my name on it. None-the-less, I decided that I would rather you read this poem and know my name, then not read it and never know.

I wrote half the stanza's when I was about 17, then finished the other half and put it all together after I had a larger world view around age 25. There is no punctuation or capitalization.. I did this for a reason, though I forget why now. (English Homework Assignment: See if you can find them! o_O)

Okay here is my awesome poem!

Actually it's my first poem ever.. I do not really like poetry in a way I sometimes can not entirely understand it (which once made a teacher of mine actually angry). But well, here is my first try, and it's about the greatest ingredient ever!

    Butter
When I tasted my first bite.
It became my love on first sight.
My mouth was filled with a taste,
So good it would never be erased.

    Sandwich, meat, toast,
It will always be my dinner’s host.
On my tongue it always melt,
And maybe after I can not fit in my belt.

It’s the greatest thing that exists,
    Yes I insist!
And though it isn’t very good.
It will always be delicious food.

Fester, I'm really glad you decided to share that with us, because it was rather excellent. That last stanza is so good ... And Lady A, your poem made me giggle! Butter is freaking delicious.

Then I achieved my goal! This poem was meant to be 'funny', but true. Butter is heavenly stuff! <3

I will write some more, though don't expect too much of me, haha! It's just for fun, you know how I am trolling rollin'~

Hey, any is better than none, IMO. I will take any poetry I can get! I will take it and feather my nest with it all and simply snuggle in. Thetefore, more, I cry! More poesy! My cup ne'er shall runneth over!

My second attempt at writing a poem, many photos of my vacation in England (of seagulls) inspired me to write this one. Enjoy! I know I'm not that good, haha.

    Seagulls

They are so elegant when they fly,
    High in the enormous sky.
    Floating with their beautiful wings,
They really look like they are kings.

    And when they finally land,
    They fully understand.
    How our nature behaves,
By just looking at the crashing waves.

Untill they suddenly see a fish,
Which will be their next dish.
    After that they fly away,
    Into the golden, golden sunray.

The nation blinded by its own cause
Fallen before the free and united
Substance now overshadowing the ones who once used to enforce its word
The voices of the ones who were once able now cry
    To give in to none
From gold to grey, from marble to rubble
The pieces now smoldered and mildewed
    Watch as they tumble down
The light that fueled the faith burns the remain
The nation that gave into none

(I dont like to give out my real name but since its my very own and i love it)

    stunning words, uttered once,

    Quandary

Love me, love me like I'm the only person on this world
Hug me, hug me and never, ever let go of me
Trust me, trust me like your life depended on it
Remember me, remember me and don't ever forget me

When the lights fade and the world darkens
Be there for me, be the light that shines my world
Be the crayon and markers that recolor my world
Be the one that leads me to the end of the tunnel

Show me that you care for me, show me that I exist to you
Tell me what's on your mind, I want to hear it all
Don't ignore me now, don't hurt me now please
Be my friend, don't lose me, save me from myself

I'm calling for you, where are you, I need you now
Do I ever cross your mind, I always wonder that
I miss you, I want you, I'm still here waiting for you
I'll always be waiting, waiting, and waiting for you...

    Poetry

And it was at that age ... Poetry arrived
in search of me. I don't know, I don't know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I don't know how or when,
no they were not voices, they were not
    words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
    from the branches of night,
    abruptly from the others,
    among violent fires
    or returning alone,
there I was without a face
    and it touched me.

I did not know what to say, my mouth
    had no way
    with names,
    my eyes were blind,
and something started in my soul,
    fever or forgotten wings,
and I made my own way,
    deciphering
    that fire,
and I wrote the first faint line,
    faint, without substance, pure
    nonsense,
    pure wisdom
    of someone who knows nothing,
    and suddenly I saw
    the heavens
    unfastened
    and open,
    planets,
    palpitating plantations,
    shadow perforated,
    riddled
    with arrows, fire and flowers,
    the winding night, the universe.

    And I, infinitesimal being,
    drunk with the great starry
    void,
    likeness, image of
    mystery,
    felt myself a pure part
    of the abyss,
    I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.

In our poetry unit, we did a formatted poem so in every line the first 2 words are formatted. However my poem was then voted on to be the best in the entire school. So either we have horrible poets or this really does scare the crap out of people. You are supposedly seeing this through the eyes of a homeless child, whether they ran away or have been abandoned by their parents.

    I am homeless, unwanted, abandoned.
I wonder if my parents care if I die on the streets.
I hear gunshots and worry, sorrow and despair.
I see the kids that have an amazing life, but don't think so.
I want wealth, a good life, and good fortune.
I pretend I have a loving family and a good life.
I feel dead and unwanted, like I don't exist.
I touch my only friend, the ripped teddy bear from the street.
I cry that I am unwanted and nobody cares.
    I am homeless, unwanted, abandoned.
I understand that I must have hope and courage.
I say I have a good home and life, but it's not true.
I dream of a life with wealth and a place to stay.
I try to think my parents still want me.
I hope to see the day my parents realized they made a mistake.
    I am homeless, unwanted, abandoned.

I had another poem I was so proud of that I made this year, but I accidentally threw it away at the end of the year :( it was about the death of my puppy and was titled "four years" since she was only four years old. I wish I could of shared it, I was very proud of it. It even made my teacher cry haha. Then I started crying. It made me look like a fool, but I didn't care :)

    A poem for you
I like to write a poem for you,
    just for you, noone else.
    But people failed me before.
    People do not like poetry
and hate the gift of a poem.

    That is not even true.
    People hated it,
    when I wrote,
    without even reading it.
Bashing my words without knowing them.

"Why are you scared, I would do that?"
    you may ask.
    I would turn away,
cause I do not dare to tell the truth.
The truth that you do not want to hear.

    I love you that much
that your opinion could destroy me.
I learned, you do not feel the same.
    That already breaks me enough.
    Perhaps someday...
