As the title suggests, I have a question or two about horses.
    1) Will we be allowed to successively breed them?
-As you successively breed horses, their stats increase, so after a few generations, you have some very powerful and fast horses. This would be great in PvP.
    2) Will domesticated horses/donkeys/mules despawn alongside the timer? :/
-I certainly hope not, cause I for one would enjoy running around towns on a donkey promoting my Redstone services.
Thanks for reading, and to those of you who answer, thank you for that too. :)

We were talking and the only reason u want the donkey is to make me ur slave and ride around with the chest on the back. U also San me to carry ur supplies. We have a Convo made about this we could add a mod If u wanna

Um.... when did I say you were my slave or you actually had to use a donkey? I just said it was a good idea. And that convo is the faction chat where we discussed what we would do if horse spawning/management is in our favor. Nevertheless, let's keep that in our convo, lad..

Hey! I got an idea Thunder! Lets randomly bring things to a forum post from a conversation so that they're out of context and misinterpreted.

Back to the reason this post is actually here...

    1. Don't know.
    2. Also don't know.

Horses haven't been discussed yet so not sure how they will be handled. I don't see why they can't be exempt from the despawner, except for the fact that as more and more people get them, it will cause less and less mobs to spawn on the main world until no more mobs spawn and all we have are horses/mules/donkeys.

It was just a thought, since these mobs are a tad more useful (in my opinion) than certain others. Especially in PvP, where they can be a great help in combat.
Maybe have it so that tamed horses don't despawn? It's a good idea if wild ones do, for the same reasons as other mobs. If we have it so that tamed ones don't spawn, we can efficiently breed horses of the finest standard.

Well, on pvp there isn't a despawner right now. We're still deciding if/how we want to set one up there. So horses will be available there once the servers are updated. But for the main server it might be the same as it has been, not sure though.

I believe tamed mobs might be handled separately from the spawner/despawner. As of now, you can breed tamed dogs and cats and they'll stay on the server without despawning. So I imagine the plugin we use will treat horses the same.

Dogs/cats tamed from wolves/ocelots do not despawn, but dogs/cats grown by breeding do despawn on main world.

And I just tested to double check what I knew. The offspring of tamed animals do not despawn.

My experience was breeding 3 cats 70 minutes ago and they survived server restart but they despawned later. Is despawn timer 30 minutes or longer?

And I bred more cats and dogs right before the server restarted and they survived the server restart and a despawn. And they grew to adult size. I knew they didn't despawn because I had other non-tamed ocelots and wolves around so I could tell when the despawn hit.

The despawn is about 30 minutes or so. I'm not sure exactly, but it was a long wait.

Yes, my kittens grew to adults too but still despawned after some time. Will test once more.
Is it possible that breeding normally spawned animals and egg-spawned animals gives different results?

    EDIT:
You can have breeding farm but animals will despawn. This is set to prevent massive sheep farms etc.

I doubt it, they're the same from eggs otherwise. They despawn when they're supposed to if not tamed and I can despawn them whenever I want.
