    if your talking about the mining world "noob holes", then unfortunately nobody can do anything about it. yes there is a sign saying to not make those holes, well at least i think there is a sign, not quite sure. so ya, just keep an eye on the ground at all times and make sure you dont fall into one :D

    if you are stupid enough to fall into them then you deserve it. i have never fallen into one of these hole since i have been on this server.
    All you have to do is not go near them and when you do, use sneak

    I fell into one that was near the edge of the map camouflaged by tall grass and trees. It was pretty much a death trap.

    I have seen people fall down these in front of me and i take their stuff. I dont think they are a problem unless you dont watch for it. The seem to be only near smooth stone or areas that seem to be blown by tnt so WATCH THOSE MINE FIELDS

    Agree that these holes are an annoyance. And I don't think that all of us who mine smart should not be punished by having to hold shift (or whatever button sneak is for you) whenever we go to the mining world. But also I can't expect that just saying that it's an annoyance will stop it. I would like to propose that the noob holes are at least covered up by just simply cobble or a small "hut". (not dirt for obvious reasons) and if not covered after us that a mod check the beginning of the hole to find out who made them and have them b fined. And if a repeatable offense, jail.
