Editable Signs - Simple idea.

    Hey :p

    A simple idea, as it's a little pain to break signs if you just want to edit something. Remember what you wrote etc... If we had a more advanced sign writing plugin would be cool.

    So like we could right click a sign with an item... say a Torch. And it would open it up so we could edit the sign. Maybe have it so we can copy/paste too when doing multiple signs.

    Nothing too important but would just add a nice touch to the server I think.

    That's a great idea! Maybe we can also make them edible for a more in depth immersion of the game and would make this server stand out over the rest.

    I want a grammar wrench and a typo hammer that work on anyone's sign. I see so many signs where I just want to *fix* them, darn it!

    Ony problem the protection maybe need to make sure you cant edit a sign that is not your or something or only where you can build?
    And i think using a stick would be better because you can place torches

    This is a great idea!

    I agree with Dutchy, a stick or any other non-placable held item would work. @lilgrubs, that would be impossible.

    I believe there are plugins out there to do this, but if there isn't, I would be able to do this :)

    I think it's pretty easy to take a sign off the wall and replace it.

    Grab a pencil and some paper, write down what you want to put on the sign, and voila!

    Yeah, it is easy, but this could work, as it is a nuisance if you make one mistake that you don't notice.

    TIP: Enter can return you to different lines, and proofread before continuing!

    Would be nice, but ATM I think there are a lot more important things for the devs to be working on (perms, etc.). Still, this would be a nice addition for once other things get sorted out.
    @lilgrubs I would LOVE something like that, but I do not know how practical the idea is :(

    I have found that the breaking the sign is rather annoyingly time-consuming, so I agree with the idea, but why would we have to use a specific item? and if we absolutely need to use a specific item to edit the sign, why not use your hand? you always have that with you and you wouldn't have to go back to get any other specific item that you wouldn't need otherwise.

    Right clicking as 'special-ability' on signs could work i guess:)... someone should look for a plugin like this, think someone might've already done this.

    This is kind of what mikey suggested, but not exactly...I'm sure someone/deity/van could edit it to make it work and customize it...

    Edit: Just took a look and someone recently reported a bug so It is most likely not working atm.

    We actually already have a sign-editor plugin installed ( http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/quicksign/ ) but its limited to admins only. I'll consider how we want to implement this so it's available to more players in the future (maybe as a class perk).

    why would this be limted to admins? unless you could change other peoples signs like lifts and such. Then if so can you just add a permissions to only be able to edit your own placed signs or even simpler only signs on your plot in a town, where assistants+ can edit others in and around the town.
