Disable villagers?

    Stop before you instantly dismiss this suggestion. Lets face it, villagers currently do nothing. In fact, when I asked what villagers do, the only answers anyone said were "Nothing" and "get in the way". This begs the question, why have villagers? The main thing they do, is to simply cause lag and annoy people. I think we would be better off without them, please leave a comment.

    I quite like having villagers roaming around. It's fun to push them down into holes and watch them burn in lava BECAUSE I HATE THEM SO MUCH.

    But i still wan't to keep them.

    no no no. I have been building a project for two months by myself. not near any towns or civilization and the only thing that has kept me going is my little buddy. I dont know what i would do without him. We have battled zombies, skeletons, been blown up by creepers but we stay strong and keep on building. Everytime i go to take a new look on my project he pops up next to me to take a view too. If you get rid of him i dont know if i could ever forgive you :'(

    You know your opening line is "Stop before you instantly dismiss this suggestion" but im sorry you didnt provide any conclusive "evidence" as to why they should be disabled. The ones that spawn on the map are only there because we make them spawn. There is such a small number of them being spawned that it doesnt really impact the servers performance or cause any sort of "lag". I hate when people jump to conclusions like that. "O we cant do that cause it makes lag" is the worst excuse ever. Its like saying the sky is blue. Yes everything that is added causes performance to go down, that obvious and thats not what we are concerned about. Its about HOW MUCH it goes down. If your so concerned about keeping this server lag-free, then lets get rid of mcMMO. How would you feel about that?

    Villagers will not be going away as they dont have any sort of impact on anything and we felt it would be nice to give you a companion on your journey through ImDeity Kingdoms. Also, breeding will be disabled for every MOB as well we will be implementing lifespans for mobs as select few di$#@ have decided to use the total server mob population towards their personal farms with 50 sheep and cows and such and dont go bi*$^!# about this either. You guys wreck things for yourself

    I HATE villagers! The only thing they do is get in my way, open my door allowing my chickens to get out + let the creepers in and attract zombies to my door which constantly needs replacing lol

    I think we should get rid of villagers, if we can allow breeding of some animals such as cows, sheep and pigs. Breeding dogs or cats would not be beneficial. And the villagers really serve no purpose, other than look kinda weird and make remote areas look somewhat primitive.

    I'd like to see a Ghoul class that could, among other things, harvest meat from villagers - kinda like how zombies currently drop rotten meat.

    I dont mind them getting in the way. The thing i dislike about them is that they enable users to breach security. Since Villagers can open doors, a restricted user needs only to wait for the npc to open the door and then he can scoot in the open door with him.

    They freak me out. They spawn all over the place. And I can't honestly believe that anyone would care enough to stalk me and spawn them on stuff I'm working on so much! I even had one on my magic carpet last week. EEK!

    Please prove us that this causes lag.
    The animal spawning rate is still the same as before, it's just that some pigs get "replaced" by some villagers.
    Just as vanZeben said, I'd like some evidence as to why this should be disabled.

    Just an opinion is not enough to disable functions here on ImDeity, imo.

    ps. I have the feeling that ImDeity Occupy is being established.
