    Have you read Stephen Donaldson's Unbeliever series(es)? They're similarly 'advanced' epic fantasy as Game of Thrones et al. Heard differing opinions from people, but it's an interesting twist on your regular epic fantasy, and a bit more challenging than some. It's a marmite series though - you'll either love it or hate it...

    I've recently started reading the Star Wars series of books and I've gotta say, they are really good! I wasn't expecting them to be so good but now I can't stop reading them, and there is over 100 different books for it!
