In English, we put adjectives before nouns. In most other languages, the adjectives come after nouns, but in French they can come before or after depending. We use BAGS as a good rule of thumb so it it is relating to Beauty, Age, Goodness (if someone was being good/bad), or Size it is placed before the noun, otherwise after the noun.
Example: The pretty girl in French is une jolie fille
The green vegetable is le légume vert.
In English both adjectives (pretty and green) are before the noun, but in French pretty is relating to Beauty so it fits the BAGS requirement so it is before the noun, while green is not one of the BAGS requirements so it comes after the noun. :)
