    I like a combination of both. There's not much that tops a nice secret lair covered by an unsuspecting above-ground house :p

    my preference is above ground, most of my buildings are made so i can see them on the live map. I personally would not like to live underground, and in my observation of underground districts before and after the reset 90%+ people dont want to either, and if they do its a second house or they end up moving out later. its a cool idea but if youre not doing it for you and you want to make money selling nice underground plots id suggest that youd be wasting your time.

    Definitely above ground. In the tree if possible, even, I like high places much more. :D Living underground just gives me the feeling like at any minute a wall might explode and let a hoard of mobs in, rofl.

    Living under the SEA though - that would be cool. :p

    I liked the underground towns, atleast some of them last map, takes alot of digging thou, for big projects they could be above the town..on surface.

    Personally, I like things built above ground but building underground intrigues me. In my town as a matter of fact, I have four districts above ground, two basically underground, and one that is going to be in the sky. The two underground districts are quite interesting to me as it's something quite different but I do still love the above ground districts.
