Where did your IGN come from?

Its quite simple really, just right down in the comments-''where did your IGN come from, did you name it after your favourite football team/colour/number/a pets name/your name ect.

Im looking forward to some of the replys from some people...

Along time ago (in a galaxy far far away) about 7 years ago, in my primary school my friend showed my first MMO, a game which was humans VS trolls, so me and 5 friends started playing it...

We wanted to have all themed names-markthechampion... ***themaster... ****the destroyer... *****thewarrior (cant remeber no 5, names are dotted)

It was not long until we stoped playing that game and moved on to others, however the nicknames never moved on, we knew them-so we kept them...

I still keep that name to day on all consoles, and I doubt i will ever get rid of it.....

 

Kassial is just an online alias I created for myself like 10 years ago. I first started using it on RuneScape, and it has stuck with me since then. The name itself - I don't think it means anything, as I thought of it myself. Other aliases I've used are Shiavui (My PSN) and ValKassi (XBL). The only time I ever use anything other than Kassial is when my name is not allowed due to being offensive; the "***" part isn't allowed on most MMORPGs and MMOs.

Edit: Hyperlinked "Shiavui" just takes to my old Photobucket account, I used that account for posting pictures of stupid stuff occurring on the RuneScape forums over the years and me trolling people. I no longer use Shiavui outside of PSN.

 

Well my IG name came from my friend because his was DemonicCake so I decided to do the same ending up with, well this name. But it also was a funny thing to call yourself in my mind anyway in others they might think I am a bit weird by calling myself by something what can get eaten.

The only other name I was thinking to choose was Scottalpha which is used on every account I have from Steam, BF3 and Xbox Live.

 

Just an online alias that stuck, mostly from an anime though, just put 2 names together and I thought it fit well

 

Mine came from some book from the Dragonlance book series. Some obscure character called Dartimien the Cat, who was basically a crazy freakin ninja who was only concerned for profit who ended up helping save the world or something. You know, just your typical badass.

 

Mine is 16 years old, It was originally v'venaya t'rel'tan, name for a dark elf in everquest 1

 

I'm not sure, it was years ago..i know it was because eltono=tono=tony, and whenever i cant use the name eltono (most of the time...) i just add 999 on the end, i dont know why its that number either..

Like 5 years ago I was on vacation in Germany. We needed some markers so we went to Penny Market. We bought markers from O-Fiz. I was looking a gamertag that time and I though O-Fiz sounded pretty cool but you cant use the - in many games so I changed it to FizzoR. Thats my story

 

I actually have several i use on a regular basis. Main one being Pawdybear, was (Paudibear, but people got confused easily with it-Paudi/pawdy is irish for Paddy). Also Creedence/Jingostarr as plays on CCR and of course a certain Beatles drummer. Have since considered changing my IgN after some random troll told me "Jingoism" could mean beligerant nationalism. :S But i like the name, and the drummer

 

I was given the name Jabir from an Arabic teacher of mine (the language, that is).

The only translation I found in my dictionary for "Jabir" to English was a "bone setter; one who sets bones, as a doctor would". I thought it was cool, so I put it together and made Bonesetter for my name in the first MMO that I played, Dark Ages of Camelot (Hib/Palomides in the house!).

1775 is the year the United States Marine Corps was created. I am a US Marine, so it was natural to use that number to make my IGN more unique.

I first played one game with the username Cobra6099.

Then, when I played Minecraft, I changed the nickname to something cooler like CobraTheAlmighty.

On the Minecraft Forums, my name is King of Cobras. On this forum, I changed it to AlmightyCobra,

i dont remember where my name came from. i think it was in a few reccurring, but diferent dreams (i get most ideas from dreams) i just used it, liked the sound of it, and it stuck.

 

Mine was the result of a mixture of Rage and all the names i had in mind taken.
I actually thought it would be taken, then i read "Registered". I was like "oh gawd"
And that's it. Because seriously i wouldn't voluntarily call myself such a thing.

 

Mine came from my IRL name: Antonio, Barbarian, well i played lots of strategy games and liked using Barbarian Peoples, making Hordes, sacking villages, so thats where my name come from

 

My name comes from a Stereolab song called "Captain Easychord." My handle is always either Easychord or AdmiralEasychord for anything I do (and if I get a donation package, you can guarantee my tag will be Admiral).

 

I have 3 which I have used and only 3.

1. vanZeben: 20 years old, My last name, roughly translates as "Of Seven".
2. Zephyr: 4ish years, Derived from Zephyrus, Greek god of Western Wind.
3. Acheron: 6ish years, River of Pain, One of 5 rivers in the underworld in greek mythology.

The latter 2 I had used in a period when I wanted a change and my own "distinct" handle. Then I grew up and reclaimed my original handle.

 

I smell something Dutch here... and some Greek Mythology cult.

Reminds me one of my other aliasses was: TNTDynamighty , was even before my minecraft times^^.
