Map Reset: Downloadable Map

This would be nice. I've heard about this server's amazing creations, and would very much like to see them all freely.

 

If i remember aswell, the old spawn which im pretty sure was built by vv has so far been the best in my opinion

 

i like this idea... how would they be split and how would you put it back together when you got it?

 

It was an attempt at making something cool, but i could have done it so much better, if i put some more effort into it.
But that is past history now, hopefully Imdeity gets a new nice spawn in the upcoming new world (if not build already).
I am still trying to find a way to build something you find on one of those hard to get on build only servers. They have such
nice buildings, and are clearly more talented then i am.

But i keep trying, even if it's not on imdeity.com

Still, i may return some day, to build something exceptional. Who knows, when this new world gets released, i may claim some area.
(Though i dread the rampant griefing resulting from an open server)

I do wish there was a way to protect individual construction areas ... not everyone is keen on
participating in towns ... I would not be too happy with a town, restricted to a plotsize not worthy a build of mine.

 

Donator stones? Bigger & custom plot-sizes in towny-replacement post-reset? We haven't been told any specifics except that the default is likely to be 16x16, but it's a $-free way of getting larger protected areas...

 

I completely agree with you, but as I've seen, this server isn't aimed around amazing buildings and architect. So get those skills up of yours and come back with something great Good to see your still out there

Each server has its own set of rules and goals, and i respect imdeity for what it is. I am really done with attempting to change things, which was clearly far from successful.
About the only way i could influence anything on imdeity is to build the most epic structure in existance. Not sure what, when and how and if will accomplish this goal.

 

Hmm give donators a 1 time ability to build reserve anywhere on the map, a fixed size land depending on donation.

Could work.

Or perhaps add a subscription system, where players that subscribe (x amount of dollars per months) a fixed size plot substantially larger than a town plot (64x64, 128x128 ?)
It should be really easy for the head dev to add such a system, if the plot is on chunk bounderies.

Sorry, VV, I meant that the donator stones are already in the system - depending on the amount of $, you get a number of diamond blocks which act to reserve an area up to about 75x75 if you go for the biggest one in a square config. Wasn't sure if you'd seen the relatively new donation perks.

however , it is only for those that donate 50 dollar or more, which is way way way excessive imho for just

The donator package text needs to be cleared up.
I don't know if the person who wrote it misread the plugin FAQ
or if the area was suppost to be changed but left on default.

The stones as tested in game currently gives you a 12 blocks radius protection, not diameter.
$50 is one stone and covers a 25 block by 25 block area.
$100 is four stones covering a 50 x 50 area
$200 is nine stones covering enough for you to build yet another medieval castle or sand pyramid.

 

still way too expensive. (imho) No normal person would give this much for so little. You can buy 10 copies of he game for 75x75? rly? 20 bucks for 100x100 would be reasonable.

 

One thing that I refute to implement myself or allow to be implemented is any sort of system that relies on the structure set forth by another. Such a system is very limiting and i don't like to be restricted by another's 'rules'... to some degree. That is why Kingdoms is structured the way it is; The player defines the grid and the structure, its not preset, like other town hierarchy systems. Another thing with Kingdoms that is in the works, is variable sized plots. This being said the 64x64 and 128x128 would be quite possible. HOWEVER to designate such a large portion of the map I don't think would be wise.

With, on a typical day not as of late, ~4,000 people online, we cannot allow such a portion of the map to be restricted to someone who may or may not use the space effectively. We prefer to have people build within towns, and with some up-coming advances with the new map that will be noted publicly soon it will become a smarter option to have a town rather then muck about in the wild.

I do agree with the expensiveness of the donation packages and people buying them baffles me. However we give them benefits that were deemed 'reasonable' by staff as what the server offered at the point. Now as these things are becoming integrated into the server more, people expect more. Tis the natural cycle of things.

Also val the donation stuff was written by deity awhile ago, and I updated them with your information, thanks for making this apparent to us.
