    Inspired by something blackesy said.

I thought about it and i do like a good biscuit to go with a cup of tea.

What are your favorite biscuits or cookies?

For cookies, chocolate chip Maryland is my number 1.

And for biscuit i would say a firm favorite of mine is the McVities Digestive biscuit

Just so it doesn't get too confusing, there are different meanings for 'cookie' and 'biscuit' depending on where you are from.

What the British call a biscuit is what the Americans call a 'cookie'. In the US, a 'biscuit' is usually served as a side dish with a meal and from what I gather, it is similar to a scone.

My favourite biscuit would have to be an Anzac biscuit, though I'm sure they would be called a cookie elsewhere. If so, then my other choice for a biscuit would be a Tim Tam.

    Many thanks,
    Seph

Yes i am aware of the cultural differences, it will be fun looking up the tasty treats people are eating on google so see if i would class as biscuit cookie or cake. xD

Because in england. cookies are biscuits.
Anzac sounds tasty, and looking at a picture of a Tim Tam they look like my Penguin bars
Interesting because without looking up the correct term, i would class a Scone as a teacake, but i get your meaning as a meal biscuit xD

Actually a biscuit here in the States would be closer in taste to a bun than a scone. They just can be shaped like scones. They aren't normally sweet at all.

For sweet cookies, I like chocolate chip ones, or maybe with chopped almonds/nuts as well.
For the more savory biscuit kind, which I have either with some kind of cheese, butter or some cold cuts/cured meat. I like Ritz crackers for the salty taste, and then there's two Norwegian ones, "Sibas Havrekjeks" and "Kornmo" which are more filling.

If I go back to the sweet, dessert/cake/treat types, I would have to mention that in December, and more specific for Christmas, we usually make an assortment of Christmas cookies/biscuits. It's a Norwegian tradition to have about 7 different kinds.
We usually make Pepperkaker (gingerbread snaps), Hvite Kakemenn, Kokosmakroner (whipped egg whites with coconut things, baked in the oven), Konfektkaker (basically cookies with chopped almonds and chopped dark chocolate), Krumkaker and Sandkaker.

A thread about food, sign me up!

As far as cookies go, I'm definitely not too picky. I could easily be satisfied with Chips Ahoy (American prepackaged miniature chocolate chip cookies). However as for a favorite type of cookie, snickerdoodles probably take the cake.

As for the American version of biscuits though, a restaurant we have here called Red Lobster has this super-seasoned cheesy biscuit served with their meals, and they also sell boxed stuff to make it at home as well (which I've gotten and it's so good).

Shortbread goes well with everything although dipping Oreos in chocolate ice cream comes in a close second.

Any sort of biscuits with Southern gravy makes for a good breakfast.

When it comes to cookies I have a pretty intense addiction to cookies from Subway, specifically m&m, chocolate chip and the soon to be discontinued in my region, double chocolate chip. But we have new raspberry vanilla chip which taste.. synthetically delicious. Some people may or may not sneak a cookie in during their shifts at work!

I also have had a weird addiction to those baby Arrowroot cookies in the past, lol.
