Just curious as to how *rent* is calculated. I have been considering making my goal to create a small town but I don't know the mechanics behind taxes or otherwise. More specifically, is there town size scaling or just a default price?

    Cilja was faster.

However, i recommend to rethink your goal. The goal should not be earning 15000 Dei, starting a village and letting it fall in few weeks. The goal should be to start a village and keep it alive for a year or longer.

I disagree, I think it is best to do a Nordale and have 3 Versions in 4 months(Has full support of this) ;)

*feels sorry for all residents of all Nordales, unaware of their town being randomly moved/deleted

Barry is entitled to his opinion, i do not know the circumstances involved but the truth is, as much a i love you guys, Barry is rarely wrong.
He uses a keen and penetrating mind to cut to the core of what makes this a friendly server, and it is obvious that an unstable town would not best serve the interests of the new people joining. It also deprives other nice and stable towns from extra residents that they might treat better possibly. #no1isperfect

Use Barry's teachings to improve for next time.

Meff just do what the current top 5 towns do to pay tax...vote for residents...why care about rent when you can just vote for them and who cares about getting gold when you can just vote for more residents...vote vote vote

Choose a town name that rhymes with Doha. Boom. Success instantly.

    Hi all,

Depending on your town goals, success is very subjective. As long as you take into account, as Ciljaw said, that Spawn costs 200 dei + 2 dei per claimed town plot, you can avoid going bankrupt. Taxes are collected every day by the server tax collector.

I strongly suggest making sure you Vote twice every day for your 200 dei each time and also being a Noble of Lord rank or above, even for just a Village. If you can also claim your Noble Salary four times per day, that's 1000 dei alone, just from those two things. If you're dedicated enough, with those two things alone, you can support a town of 400 plots. That's not even taking into account your resident tax, the maximum which is 30 dei.

    Many thanks,
    StRumpterfrabble

*Edited to show updated info. Thanks to Haydoj.

Just to note that voting is 12 hours now, so it's 400 Dei per day. That makes funding a town even easier.

I feel donating to the server is a great to support your town...An example is SimonFCDallas he has donated multiple times to server in order to keep Caldera running so i suggest 600+ dollars worth of donations would be a great base to start a great town...while i may not be a great mayor and am known for deleting Nordale multiple times...just remember i have to pay for the town to be recreated...and how? donations
Just think for every 200 dollars to donate to the server you will be able to keep a village with one plot running for 250 days so 600 dollars should easily cover a village for the whole map

going back to my first suggestion...voting for residents...this is a cheaper way of supporting a town as you can probably find a vote bot that will vote for all your residents for only $5 a month..an example of this would be Doha...last map we were able to receive over 60,000 dei a day in resident tax

    Love Niall

Best part about that is, I checked, by trying to vote a few minutes after I voted, and it tells me to wait another 15 hours and 50 minutes to vote again.
