I’m not sure how everyone else feels, but, when you get told “It will work when it works” is quite upsetting. Specifically being a donor, and spending a good chunk of change on this server. It feels like it’s starting to become a lost cause. I’m not sure why Deity feels the need to reinvent the wheel with a lot of this stuff, why make a Handicapped version of a plugin that already exists, and works perfectly? Obviously, there are instances where this needs to be done. However, the following examples are instances where I feel that some of the (linked) plugins would work better.

I feel the need to reference a few different issues. I’ve got solutions that would be so simple to fix these issues. Hopefully, these things can be implemented.

    The Mining World

Right now, anything with an NBT tag or metadata cannot be brought between the main and mining world. This is really annoying, and for a lot of people. I swear, I see someone complaining about it almost every time that I’m online.

The issue is that Deity (as far as I’m aware) is using just the /give command to give the items back to the inventory. This is a silly fix. Plugins already exist that sync items between multiple servers via a form of SQL database. An example of one of these plugins is PlayerSQL. It syncs Armour, Inventories, Potion Effects, Heath, Experience, etc. etc. I’ve tested it with @Majora_Unmasked and we’ve found that it transfers the inventories Flawlessly, including enchanted books and items with NBT tags.

Even if you choose not to use this plugin, why not use a Better Serializer, and then the Inventory#setContents method?

    Gold

Disclaimer: I’m going off memory here, please correct me if any of my facts are wrong.

Gold is disabled because people were using it to bypass a tax. That tax on balances, at this point in time, is disabled. All taxes are done based on the ownership of towns or plots, therefore, having gold would not affect the amount you are taxed. I don’t think anyone will say that gold is not a valuable building block, so, why does it have to continue to be disabled?

The other thing I've heard is that it was disabled to prevent duping. Currently in Spigot 1.8 all duping bugs involve TNT. And, if you're going to disable gold because it can be duped, why not disabled every other block in the game?

Gold should be allowed. It’s ridiculous that a block in the game is disabled to fix people from getting around a tax that doesn't even exist.I’m not saying that the Vault is not cool, but, seriously. Why fix something that isn’t broken?

    Other Suggestions

    Barry’s Craftsmen Sign Colors (link)

I saw this thread, and thought it would be a GREAT idea to allow craftsmen, or even in my opinion, everyone to use Sign colors. this would be such an easy thing to allow, it would literally take two seconds to drag + drop the SignMagic plugin into the plugins folder of the server. I can’t see ANY reason not to install this plugin, It’s made by a reputable author and it’s lightweight. It’s something that the community wants to see on the server, it would also give another privilege to craftsmen.

Did I mention the plugin also allows you to right-click edit signs without breaking them?

    Advertizing on New Websites (Link)

It’s true. Minestatus is no longer the biggest voting site. So, why is deity still focusing all of his resources and time in this one site? Why put all your eggs in one basket? Why not Advertize the other features the server has to offer? This would take not very much time, and the results would be great.

    Hello rmar

When making a suggestion, you should avoid certain things you said in the first paragraph as it is unnecessary and takes away from the legitimacy of your thread. If you want to be taken serious you to need to put your emotions to the side.

I have no comment on anything except the gold. Gold blocks are not disabled because of tax evasion but are disabled due to the linking of gold blocks being duped in the past. It may be hard to understand for some but when something severe happens, like it did, you attempt to prevent it in some way - in this case, disabling the block from being used. We should not be concerned over if, ands, or buts when we do have things we saw occur to use as a basis for actions done.

I do not see gold blocks being enabled in the foreseeable future.

All duping glitches in spigot 1.8 involve TNT in some form, tnt is obviously disabled.

If only gold ore would have the value of 25 Dei and gold nuggets/ingots/blocks would be virtually priceless (e.g. price determined by market offer/demand as all other items) then there would be no need to dupe the gold.
All we need for that is adding a "Smelt it" button to Gold Vault, bringing no Dei to player, only ingots to his/her inventory.

In response to the mining world inventory issue, I would agree this is in fact an issue, but not a pressing one. Most players know not to take items with metadata to and from the mining world, and new players quickly learn of this. Not only is the cloud system fairly complex, but there are many more pressing issues at hand, like getting creative and pvp working. Just a few hours ago deity got permissions working on the mining world which in my opinion is a lot more important that bringing enchanted books back to main.

As for the colored signs feature, I agree that it would be a cool perk for craftsmen to be able to color text on signs, and even edit them without destroying them. But again, it is not a pressing issue. 3/5 of our cloud servers still need to be updated to 1.8 (creative, events, pvp), not to mention that the spleef and pvp events still need work. Deity is our only current dev, and he has other things to do.

I think you have really good ideas, but please think of the bigger picture before getting angry about things not being implemented.

From the original thread about the vault being added:
#2 is especially important and relevant. Some players with a high supply of gold who had already hit their daily 50-sell limit would sell excess gold to other players at a slightly reduced cost, effectively bypassing the limit.

Regarding colored signs, they used to be enabled but were apparently abused by some players.

As cliff said, while I do think some of your ideas have merit as possible future additions to the server, at the moment there are more pressing issues to be attended to.

(Cough, it's 40 sell per day) I uh, hate to be a bit of a Debbie downer here, but rmar stated the fact that these things exist, he's specifically pointing out they do exist for the soul purposes that they could be quickly added so that time can be spent on the more important things and not on these things.

Thanks for the other two points.

I personally think that the priority should be the main world and the mine world; I'm very happy that the perms were fixed. I just believe that the most popular part of the server should be the main priority, over the other supporting parts of the network.

All publicly known duping glitches. And that is just with Spigot 1.8. Who knows what plugins may interact with each other badly and cause dupes? We banned a bunch of people a while back for figuring out how to dupe with the move between mining world and main world, and that had nothing to do with Spigot bugs.

As the saying goes, once bitten, twice shy. You'll just have to wait for Deity to relent over the unforgivable situation. It's why x-rayers and dupers don't get a second chance, it ruins everyone's experience.
