    Hey there Alliee2,

I like the idea of giving hints for new players like you did; Why don't you make it as a tutorial? I'm pretty sure it could help a lot, including myself, since I'm not that much of a great builder.
Maybe add some screenshots from in-game, type every steps on how you would do one of your favorite kind of house... I think that would be nice! :)

    Thank you,
    Deer

There's a massive list of tutorials on Reddit on the Minecraft subforum if you want to get better at building. Easiest ways to make buildings better looking is to build them out of 3 or so materials, for example: Logs for support beams, two or three plank colours (e.g oak floors, spruce inner walls and birch furnishings) and stone bricks for outer walls. You can also put details into walls so they don't look so flat, like using stairs above glass panes so there's an indentation above a window.

I'm not allowed to post links due to post count. But the Reddit guide is called "The Gigantic Guide for Building"

It's also good to realize that nothing is really original. Everything that you see built by other players is inspired by other builds/pictures. Don't be afraid to do a quick Google image search of whatever you're building for inspiration.

I totally agree with this comment, taking inspiration from others work is great place to start and then you can "build" off of those ideas.

First of all - BarryX15 has already made a thread on how to build a house; http://imdeity.com/threads/tutorials-island-vol-1.16931/#post-204749. This should help a lot.

Unfortunately there is no real easy way to find a thread other than using the search feature. ( how to build house ), for example. :)

When creative world was up and running smooth, we could all fly around and see some super fantastic builds, people are so ingenious and creative. Great for inspiration.
