This is an idea I had of when I was bored.

what if there was a NPC called the Dungeon Master and if you clicked on set NPC you would be shown a menu were you could pick build or teleported to a dungeon were you would fight mobs and find treasure; and the Dungeon you get would be randomized. or build a dungeon hide treasure and so forth.

Cons: 1. It might cause a little instability to the economics of the server
    2. mods would have to watch and delete some dungeons that are just rooms with chest of diamond (or Gold, Iron Ex.)

Thank you for ready, and hopefully considering my idea

Great idea! Actually the mechanisms for this already exist somewhat. I can envision first, player made dungeons (you'll probably have to advertise it) with treasure and obstacles of torment to overcome and accumulate. I would show the staff just how powerful of an idea this is by making your own successful dungeon to "show off" and possibly (< note that possibly) when/if NPC's come back they could do a simple script that teleports people to open dungeons.

Sounds very doable compared to the works that have been done before. Also, maybe bring this up with Vershye as hes the head events guy "I believe" he might dig it. Probably will need a concept to show off though remember.

    Wow, cool idea :)

Edit: Maybe see if deity can create "restriction zones" where fly perms would be disabled per town request. I don't see why this permission couldn't be utilized by town staff, though it surely is a topic of discussion. Could potentially lead to some innovated events. Or maybe that already happens in pvp plots. heck, fact check anyone? heh

Maybe build a puzzle or arena somewhere in /main and try to get some flow of people trying like brytton said. I love this idea and will get straight to work on one of these to help get the idea around!

I like this idea. As far as I am aware, something pretty much identical to this has been thought of already and coded to some degree, but your idea is still a good one. In fact, I believe some maps were already being worked on/completed along with being tested, but this was a long time ago. This version had pretty much identical things to what's been listed above, mobs would spawn at certain points, there were maze-like components and obstacles as well.

In order to prevent having rewards that would be too rewarding, a specific reward in dei that's universal for all of the maps might be more appropriate and really dungeons would probably be tested or go through some process before they'd be accepted to a dungeon map rotation. Also in my opinion, there would be have to be some way of having it so any items that are provided in a dungeon(e.g. weapons or armor) should not be able to be taken from a dungeon area.

I'm not really sure whether it would be easier to have this type of thing(from a coding/server perspective) on the /main world or really on a separate world. With suggestions like this it helps if you can show it in action, with a live version that has been coded, or if you can find someone trustworthy on this server to code it. Since someone already has done this, it may just be a matter of working out the next steps for it and seeing if it's possible at the present time.

I can confirm a plugin for this has been coded (my me) and is ready to be used. The only this missing are dungeons. Once most things are up and running (most importantly creative) ill ask vershye about getting more spots for people to build dungeons. If you would like to build a dungeon as well just send me a forum convo and we'll work it out ;)

This is before I joined Deity - but while in creative several months ago I did /warp list and discovered what is called Deity Dungeons. there are 6 or 8 of them and they are exactly what the OP is referring to. They are player made dungeons in the same format as the war arenas, and some you can go in to see that they were in fact intended to have mobs, treasures, and puzzles. They are all not being used at this time, but hey - maybe a resurrection is in order.

Those are the dungeons that cliff is referencing that were being worked on to go with his plugin.

If we had worldedit and voxel badseed33 and I could make a professional map easily. We have the experience. Nohats(Rip), im4life(Rip), badseed, and I had an in-progress map we were working on that could also be completed. Sadly I do not have the time to balance Doha, IRL, and building the dungeons without the proper tools.

The only quick fix I can think of for this would be to install world edit and voxel on you machine, and share the map via email or dropbox. There may be a way to implement such a system on the server but no promises.

I was under the impression that submitting maps was not going to be permitted for fear of build plagiarism. If it is not then that is a definite option. I will probably then just host my own server with WE and voxel because currently SPC is not updated to 1.8. I could build there and some other players could join me if they would like. I could share the ip or the map with you once the build is completed.

Unless Cliff has completely changed how the plugin is going to work, it's not designed for entire maps. That's why the areas that are in the build world are the sizes that they are. So for something that size, just like with the War maps, the extra abilities aren't really needed.
