Sigh.. bye bye USA. If only we got that goal in the final minutes of regulation...

By the way, all 8 group leaders have defeated runner-ups in the Round of 16.

    USA vs Belgium
It was a pretty good game. Though USA's one goal in the last minutes was a pretty smexy goal.

At least the USA game will be remembered as the game when a random guy from the audience somehow got past the security and ran around on the field for a good 30 seconds and then got escorted away dramatically.

Let's not forget how our goalie made world cup history with 16 saves in a single game!

    He was spectacular!

USA played well throughout the whole tournament. Personally wanted them to go through and continue their run, but oh well.

Germany plays Friday. Wednesday and Thursday are no games. Luckily, cause we and the players can recover. :p

Columbia have probably been the most impressive side in the tournament, in my opinion. Brazil will need to play well to avoid any hiccups.

OK, I liked the game and I am happy Germany won. However the referee could have done a better job, admittedly he did not go against fouls by France AND Germany that would have deserved a card... I loved Müller running into the goalkeeper and Neuer's interview: "I had to stay calm, would have been my fault if they scored..." lol. I think Brazil is going to win the upcoming match against Colombia. That would mean Germany against Brazil on Tuesday. :)

    Hup Holland Hup!
The Netherlands can win the cup!
Though Columbia and Germany look pretty strong.
I've enjoyed every game so far. Hope the excitement continues.

France vs. Germany was pretty good. Though France had a perfect shot at goal ad would of tied it if that one Germany player hadn't been standing right in the way and got his stomach punched.

I'm hoping Argentina and Brazil survive to play each other. That would be a pretty interesting game. Messi vs. Neymar

That one player, was actually the man of the match. Mats Hummels who scored for Germany and defended so awesome as well. :) Well Brazil vs. Germany. This could be interesting. I personally think that Brazil was liked by the referee and if he did not forgive too many fouls unpunished in the beginning the game would have been more match than fight. I hope the match against Germany will be fairer and ofc, I hope Germany wins. :)

Both games today were awful, admit it.
The first game they did not even play soccer, I do not know what they were doing. It was rather boring and terrible to watch. In the end it loosened up a bit and the French got some decent actions but a shame they did not tie the game.

The second game, well come on. Brazil had to win from the group phase onwards, it is rigged. On top of that, I admit that the second goal was quite awesome but the foul was a schwalbe and Brazil did not deserve the free kick in the first place.
I am seriously in trouble for whom to root for the half final, because I do not like both teams to go through. Meh.

I am anxious to see the Belgium vs Argentina game tomorrow, Belgium is doing well so far and I hope they will show some decent soccer tomorrow. The other game Costa Rica vs The Netherlands, well of course I would like the Netherlands to win, but meh. I am not too sure about it, if our defense plays well for once and if they pass around more it should be doable. I do not like how they most of the time use long passes to reach either Robben or van Persie, there should be more interaction on the mid-field.
I hope Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Dirk Kuyt will play tomorrow, because they are awesome.

Yeah I would have to agree with a lot of that. Brazil made fouls that should of been justified but were ignored. Perks of being Host country I guess
A lot of dirty playing though in many recent games. Hand grabbing and constant tripping and whatnot.

Yeah, the referee during the Brazil match seemed too scared to make bookings that he really should have been making. As for the first game, it was a snoozefest, but the better team won in the end.

I cannot agree to that at all. The match between Germany and France was good. I liked to watch it and not just because I am German. It was a good match of soccer. And I found it interesting and good to watch till the end.
I cannot agree to that either. Brazil was clearly not the better team. They just got away with more and therefore had better chances to win. Additionally the foul against Neymar from the Colombian player was not meant to cause that I am sure, but it would not have gotten that far if the soccer match would not have been changed into a "fist fight" by Brazil. I think personally that Neymar was the best Brazilian player and the one that made Brazil get that far. I hope for him that his broken vertebra will heal fast and without any further issues. It is a big loss for Brazil. And it is VERY sad that something like that had to happen. If I was the one to judge, I would kick out BOTH teams out of the tournament, however it was more Brazils fault in my eyes.
First: I think Netherlands and Belgium will win their matches. However I think the match between Belgium and Argentinia will be boring. The Netherlands will not be able to show their best match due to Costa Rica as well. For the European teams the style of Costa Rica is hard to cope with.

The match between Brazil and Germany will be interesting. However if Germany does not go on with the good game-bad game series, it should be a win for Germany if the referee actually takes actions on fouls. Since what Brazil showed yesterday just made them win because of those and not out of any good gameplay.

Oh for the second sentence I was referring to Germany (sorry it was that clear reading back on it) being deserved winners in their game. France really didn't play well, and even after they made the changes in the last twenty minutes, by then it was too late. Germany deserved to win.

It really sucks that Neymar worked this far to the World Cup just to have to watch from the sidelines in the end. I would agree that both teams should get blame and whatnot. I'm just glad that he's sitting out these coming games so that he can get better and keep playing Soccer.

    It wa
It was a really nasty foul too from the colombian player on Neymar. I'm honestly not surprised he got badly hurt.
