New Hub could use a portal to the Mine World

    After experiencing the move to the new hub several times and exploring it and jumping off to my death at least 5 to 8 timnes each time I'm ported there I've been wondering. It has a portal to the creative world, the games, pvp and back to the main. It could use one to the mining world. There's been a few times that the main is down for sometime and for those of us that aren't fast enough to caught the cloud move and jump to the mining world having a portal located there would be a great help.

    Now of course this is all just a thought and other may or may not like the idea but it's just a thought that it seems to be the only world missing from the new Hub.

    There won't be a portal to the mining world from the hub because it doesn't work that way. When you go to the mining world from the main world your inventory is transferred over to the server the mining world is on. Then the reverse when you come back. The mining world and the main world are linked because of this. You can't take a portal from the hub because that isn't your main world inventory/player so the transfer wouldn't work correctly and leaves too much room for inventory duplication glitches.

    Would it be possible to have it take you to the main world and then take you to the mining world?

    Linked normally means shared. So is what you are trying to say is that the data/bin files for each character is common between the main and mine and that's why the inventory can be moved back and forth. If so then making a portal to the mining world would be similar to the one for the main where all the lines pointing to main are interchangeable with the mining because of this shared filing system. That is of course that when the original coding was being done that the programmer did everything correctly, a simple protocol to look for the inventory file could be done making the portal work just like the portal for the main. Like in days of old the if and then statement lines for coding have now become object files. Granted this all once again falls on if the original coding was done correctly. If not, then yes the portal could never be make because the code will not allow it without a complete rewrite.

    It is technically possible to add the Mining World portal in Hub but it would deny the concept of the Hub: There are four portals offering four different things to do on the server: Kingdoms for restrictive friendly survival, PvP for unrestricted fighting survival, Creative for building and Games for some minigames that may be added in the future.

    Mining World is just part of Kingdoms, same as Buildoff World is just part of Creative.

    I like your answer BarryX. It has a very simple answer behind it on why not to add a mine world portal.
