    Although you cannt request to remove digging, what you can do is actively reload the wilderness spawn areas in a hope that you and people like you don't have to deal with falling holes like that again :D

    Giant holes suck, but paying attention to suspicious looking areas can help you avoid holes, i tend to stay mining so it has really never happened to me lol. but i just decide to take it slow so it doesn't but it would definitally suck, i would probably cry o_O

    You cant not dig holes because it is a part of Minecraft. So i guess everyone will just have to deal with it :/

    unless it has changed, when i go mining i always mine with F3 on. when i die, the coordinates are still there on screen. and for those holes, i made feather falling IV.
    but when i tested it, it doesn't seem at effective on this server then single player.

    wow, lots of info here, lol... So here is the answer. Make a counter, if we free fall 10 blocks the counter resets and continues from 1 again so that when we land we will never take more damage than a 10 block fall.

    seriously though, I can't get over OP.

    removing the ability to die seems to me to removing the main principle of minecraft survival: to survive

    That would have been a good point if he had said "remove the ability to die" and not "remove the ability to dig"
