When you cannot sleep?/random dreams

This thread is for things that people do when they cannot sleep.

Sure you can count sheep, play minecraft or something similar, however, i was curious to see if anyone else has a ritual that they do when they cannot sleep.

Also if you dream a lot and remember them, then please feel free to share any weird or interesting dreams that you have had, and remember to keep this clean.

This is purely sleep related

When i cannot sleep i find a boring video on youtube and that helps sometimes.

The weirdest dream i had was, there was an old unexploded bomb from ww2 buried under my house, and i thought it was going to explode.

I woke up and evacuated everyone from the house, but it was a dream, and i was delerious.

So please share any random sleep related stories with the community, i find them interesting xD

 

I had a dream where i was chased by something, but then i figured out it was a dream.
And i was like:
No, no, no, if this is a dream, let's change things around here a little bid. This is too dark, lets make it lighter. Ok, now i want chocolate,...

 

When I can't sleep, I tended to have scary thought, and cry to myself.

I find, that I have a serious case of night owl. For any other people with the case of being a night owl, it means they can't sleep until a certain time. Their body stays wide awake for them. For me, I stay wide awake until 11:00 pm. That's two hours of youtube on my phone until I fall asleep. That also leads me to my weird dreams.

Every dream I have has to do with someone I know. Last night, I remember having a dream, but not most of it. (We have seven dreams a night, but we don't remember them) I was at a really cool looking waterpark. Then I was out in a ocean. Hitching a ride with a boat, I went to a pool with crystal clear water. Then putting on my goggles, I looked underwater. The pool was say, 10ft deep, and was pretty wide. I then noticed what was swimming near the bottom, sharks. (Lol, pretty messed up eh?)
I then climbed back into the boat realizing that I was dreaming. I remembered thinking, "Don't think about anything bad... it'll come true >.>" knowing me, I thought of playing COD II Zombies... you know what happens next... Zombie Apocalypse. That's when my mom woke me up.

For any of you not knowing why I realized I was dreaming and though of not thinking of anything bad. That's called 'lucid dreaming.' Its the same thing as thinking clearly, only in a dream. While lucid dreaming, whatever you think of, appears in said dream. Spooky But of course, lol, you can't actually die in dreams, if you do, you wake up Happened to me many times

 

I have some really dark dark dreams, one of them was my mom and I were going around
"Los Santos" and yes, too much GTA, and she got killed by a gang. I was like, 8 when I had this dream, so I woke up and cried then I went to my mom and hugged her and she said "No more GTA for you" then I got banned from it for a little while.

 

I feel like I have dreams, and then encounter them in real life. It's like a dejavu moment everytime I do see it.

 

Yeah, aint that odd? Dont you get like, you see a moment and your in it, and then its like Deja Vu because it seems like you have seen that moment before but you actually havent?

 

When I'm tiered and can't sleep I normally imagine some scenario and play it out in my head then i normally wake up. So it must work but normally I don't remember falling asleep just waking up and wondering how I finished that scenario.

 

When I can't sleep I usually think of myself inside some sort of movie pretending I'm with the main protagonist.

 

I like to take walks and read a book when i cant sleep.

 

Sometimes I text other people who can't fall asleep, other times I watch youtube and browse imgur on my ipod.

Also when I read I can never go asleep, so I tend to refrain from that

 

Well I sometimes don't have a problem with sleeping, but sometimes I wake up at 3-4 in the morning like I had a nightmare.

 

I guess it must be because i am a plumber, but my most common dreams often involve pipes, hot tubs, swimming pools and lots of water

 

Regarding what I do when I can't sleep, I either train, or read. Though reading for the most part keeps me up for hours until I eventually fall asleep with it on my chest.

The earliest dream I remember ever having, was... some 12 years ago, my sister and I shared room up until I was 14, but at any rate - so I'm in this underground parking lot, my parents and I are walking.. and then we get to this Water well, deep, empty, dark. My parents and I both look down.. there's something down there.. writhing around in the dark.. All of a sudden it's at the very top, next to us. It's a pool of glistering, dark oil-like mass.. it seems to be oozing with fumes eating away at anything in it. There's a person in this dark mass.. It's my sister, her face in shock, her mouth wide open as if she's screaming.. But not a single sound is uttered. The only thing I hear is my parents breathing, and this dark mass, emitting a weird splashing noise. She eventually fades away into the darkness.. I don't remember waking up. It's just there, faintly lingering in my memory.

Sometimes when I can't sleep I read but I have to be careful what I read because if I read anything violent or scary I'll dream about it.
