    It would be interesting if we could get the server build team to connect the capital to some of the closest towns.

    Guys, what if someone living in the wild finds a path? They make houses there, small villages, and they soon follow horse riders and don't stop. Then there's greifing of roads. What about that?

    As a UN Sr. Assisstant, I'd be more than happy to help.

    Simply put,
    Griefers -> Ticket -> Ban/Rollback/Manual repairs

    Yeah but if these roads are continuously greifed, instead of wasting the mods/admins time since we are willingly putting these in the wild, a repair squad would be kinda fun IMO :D

    Would this not get in the way of town expansions?

    Towns could always slowly destroy road near their town when they want to expand that way longs it still connects I guess.

    This needs to be organized, however. I suggest we vote on a certain material and make paths to towns. Assign each active town a road to build to, given that they are willing to participate.

    I think, regardless of material, these roads should be fitting to the environment (NOT FLOATING)(Also not just putting "support beams" under the road to keep it at a certain height the whole way) and should also be about 8 blocks in width, leaving the edges for fencing to prevent falling where needed (over water or over a valley of sorts). I'm all for this, but it needs to be done right so it's not haphazard (random) and ugly.

    Towns should plan for this road ahead of time, connect it to a main road that leads into town square or something. You wont need to delete roads, just plan for it. I'm fine with riding into a town, as long as I'm not obstructed.

    This will aid in horse races, as I was thinking today. If I need to get my horses for a horse race in Doha from Catston, I will be able to follow the main routes to where I need to get. Maybe through Vesis, to Crystalguard, to Mirasol, to HMQuest, and finally to Doha. All the towns need to be accessible from any town starting point.

    Hows about just building it out of stone? Easy to get and cheap, or perhaps gravel?

    The way it looks trumps the cost.

    Someone should use the livemap to map out the paths, for uniformity's sake. And mojinax, although I agree that looks triumphs costs, there also needs to be enough materials in order to make all of the tons of roads.

    In response to all the concern about griefing, I have come up with a solution. If you haven't already seen it, check out the Deity Rangers! It is an organization to help stop griefing on our roads. Join today!

    Server-wide uniform design seems as mistake to me, as each town uses different street design style and it is hard to match even just two neighboring towns. In the beginning of this map, i suggested street design that is used in Veligrad (narrow variant) and Doha (wide variant) so these towns look more uniform, but matching this simple design seamlessly with variety of nice patterns that minibirde made for HM_Quest is impossible.
    Solution is that towns make deal about border point - i suggest using some river/lake between towns as natural border, with bridge as border point. Then both towns can build their street styles up to that bridge (which can use its own design). Check connection between Veligrad and Panem to see.

    8-block road width is too much in my opinion but it is to be discussed on TS while building so we immediately see how it looks.

    And i wholeheartedly agree with "environmental-friendly" roads, and will do my best to fit them with landscape, but first we need to simply connect towns. Both for horse-delivery-companies and for pure fun.
