    The duplication glitch was fixed in 1.7.3 according to the patch notes, unless there was another glitch.

    I would love to see them, banks are useless without an awesome piston vault door.

    They slightly fixed the duplication glitch, but not fully. The use of pistons is probably limited due to it been exclusively for the Labourer class. That and Pistons can be used to grief.

    sticky pistons can be used to grief even with towny, and also they can still be used with the sand and gravel duplication glitch, hence they won't be on deity for a long time if ever.

    Other than the duplication of sand and gravel, sticky pistons cause more lag than normal pistons. And there is no duplication glitches anymore for 1.7.3 or 1.8.

    I don't see why people should be worried about the grief aspect of it. Just make it so that only a level 2 craftsman can place them, because (for the most part) anyone who is that dedicated to the server wouldn't grief.

    Well level 2 might be a far variation from some people, so maybe they could have a rule that level 1's could place them after 10-20 days of playing on the server.

    Reaching level 2 is a walk in the park.

    And they will never be allowed if you can grief with them bypassing towny.

    I agree with that people cant use it because people can greif with them. But i think there should be a way for responsible people to use them.

    I don't necessarily see a big problem with sticky pistons being reintroduced. Ban sand/gravel duplication and it should be fine. As for griefing, can't reg pistons already do that? My solution: make it cost 50 Dei+ to place a sticky piston! And only level 2!

    @Leviathan, how many people are willing to work all the way up to level 2 (7500 Dei, time spent waiting, 30 forum posts, 60 hours ingame and so on) just to grief? It doesn't make much sense to me... If anything, make this solution a ban if someone abuses the sticky pistons.

    Sticky piston greifing glitch: Say there is a diamond block on the border or one space away from said border. use the sticky piston to bring the diamond block closer to you and you now have a diamond block. This is why they are not allowed.

    Except that in order to "have" the diamond block, you still have to break it.

    Our logblock tools will still find that the diamond block was broken and by whom. Especially since it would only move one block away.

    Also, sticky pistons, when available, will probably only be able to be placed by a higher level craftsman and for a price.

    So even if that is at Level 2 of craftsman, is someone going to put that many hours in game, be a member for that many days, have 2 great builds, obtain a slimeball somehow, place a sticky piston for a cost, just to steal someone's diamond block and still get caught for it?

    I see that as an extremely unlikely scenario on this server.
