How about an intense maze?

When I was younger, I thought mazes were awesome. For a small amount of money people could try to get through the maze. To start off you would get and iron sword and a little food. As you go through the maze you would face mob spawners and find hidden chests that might give you food, or a water bucket, or say armor. If you managed to find your way out without giving up or dying, you got a sum of money. (I think that it should be like a hardcore kind of thing where if you die you have to start over.) I think you should pay like 50 to be able to start, not be able to destroy blocks, and like 1000 if you win. What do you all think?

 

But once a player has been through the maze once, then he will remember where to go and then he will go through it like 20 times a day, and then its free money for him.

True, unless this maze was in an event world, and upon completing the maze and typing the command to receive the prize, you are ported back to main and unable to enter that world again, until the maze gets reset

Have you thought of doing this not as a event but player create? You could talk to your town and ask to build this, and this could be a town event instead of admins or mods developing something. to make sure people don't see the maze just create a under ground route that goes to the middle (if that's where you want to start) and go there, you can mine the resources for the iron armor and place the food.
Even though I do love the idea of a maze for the event world, the problem would arise tons of mazes would have to be created to stop players from remembering the route. (over time, kind of like the deity games)

 

I see what you all are saying about the people just going through again and again for the money. I was thinking of making it out of like cobblestone or something so everything looks the same. (That would be incredibly hard to memorize) also I was thinking of like three different mazes or one with three different levels: wild, nether, end. Of course for that though I would need the help of the mods.

I also wanted to say that once a person has been through the same maze 3 times, he could not go throught the maze for money anymore, BUT they could go through it as an obstacle for the players that are going for the money. Of course, they would get a lesser weapon like a wood or a stone swoard. This way even if you went through the maze, and you knew where to go, you could help make the maze harder.

 

Yea, I'll start working on it in the world wild. I will I'll tell all with the coordinates when I'm done. Probubly wont be for a while though if im not going to get any help.

 

I wouldn't in wild I'd talk to your town about getting one set up. The odds of it getting griefed in the wild are so high

 

I've been wanting to design a maze for quite a while now. I've even put down some multilevel mazes on paper. I'd definitely be willing to get my hands dirty and help with something like this.

 

Don't do it in the wild, thats where all the new players come

You should make it near a town, or somewhere with more protection lol, unless you are planning on making a huge obsidian maze

It's definitely going to need some protection. It's going to take a huge amount of work to collect all the materials. We don't need the additional expense of collecting obsidian. What town do you live in Hank? My home is in Vesis. I'm not going to be able to be on then though. I have a prior commitment. We'll figure something out though.

 

Ok thats fine, I kind of live in paradise. (I say kind of because I dont have a claimed area there but I am in paradise) if that is a problem I could change. And I play minecraft quite a bit. That was just a time that I knew I was going to be on. But yea name a time and tell me your town too.

 

I would like to make my own a'mazing maze, but I will sure to check it out. And sorry Jimmy. I noticed you said your town.
