I don't like this idea and I also don't think this will ever happen. It would ruin the current trade market we have where players basically can determine the value of the items they sell/buy. They can buy/sell things at the value that they think their things should be bought/sold. Having an admin shop that buys people things will ruin this tremendously.

And there are other ways right now that you can make money successfully - http://imdeity.com/wiki/money

    This isn't necessary.

the actual problem that im trying to address here is that people can't get money fast enough by simply selling items to players and voting. we should have a store where everything is at a fixed price so that people like me can aquire enough money to create a town! i am simply asking for this so that the average individual can afford to actually make a contribution to the server!

Problem is, and you cleary can't see that, is that we have a PLAYER TRADE, wich consists of players charging their own price for itens, if you want money, donate to the server, or grab some stuff, go to mine world and mine some gold, and sell it in your vault, your suggestion is ACTUALLY, going to CREATE a NEW PROBLEM for the server.

The reason towns are so expensive is because: 1) People will have to work for it, so there is a smaller chance of every town going to crap within the first few days, and 2) So that towns don't pop up left and right, cause recruit problems, and intrude on the space of other towns. I think you can see how this idea of yours pretty much ruins the whole reason behind the price of towns.

There is little need to be rude. Assistants understand very much how towns are run and how much they cost to start and run. Many Lord assistants aspire to and are often saving up so that they can start their own town.

As Hotfries said, towns are expensive to create because we're hoping that the effort it takes to make the money and stockpile the supplies for creating a town will make sure the Mayor will be dedicated to the running of the town. A while back the amount to start a town used to be lower, and the map became choked with tiny abandoned dirt hovel towns started by people who didn't really care that much. Now many people try to become assistants or at least live as residents in a town for a good while so that they can not only build up the money and supplies they'll need, but so that they can learn how to successfully run a town and manage things like budget and politics.

If you are dedicated to creating a town, then you'll be willing to spend the time it takes to get the money and supplies and make your town really brilliant, as I'm sure you are hoping you will. Time can only help you in this endeavour, and when player shops open up then you will be able to sell as well as buy, but to other players. Here, too, you will need to have patience - I know it can be really difficult, but it will be worth the wait.

ummm, no. I agree with previous responses. Part of the fun is making dei, yes. But the other part is figuring out how. Lots of players have stores and would either give you a job or buy what you have collected and have for sale, including me at IDS...and many, many stores.
You can use /trade to announce when you are selling and ask for price checks.

My advice, try to join a real town before trying to make fun of someone who is an assistant, lol.
Anywho...have enjoyed your posts today....lots of laughs.

I've Been a mayor of 2 towns in my time on ImDeity, and assistant in another. Being an assistant is almost the same as being mayor, without a few commands.

Sorry to tell you, but that 30% off for nobility was removed a while back. Too many towns started, so we made it fixed at 50k.

If you really want to start this town, go gold mining in the mine world with friends. It should take you atleast 3 weeks to get the gold necessary for your town, but if you do that it will be worth it.
It takes dedication to own a town, and if you can't spend the 3 weeks+ mining, do you really think you're cut out for a town?

I am an Assistant, a Mod, and a long-time member of this community. I know because I've familiarized myself by being involved in this server and its functions, and I've come to understand the reason these prices and rules are set in place.

If you don't want to wait, that's just too bad. I can assure you it isn't going to change anytime soon.

    1. There is no discount for lords anymore and there will not be one, believe it or not.
    2. You can sell gold on portal page, 50 ingots daily for 25 dei each, that gives you enough money for town in 40 days of mining and selling.
    3. You can gather another resources and sell them to players in /trade. Try shearing wool, try mining obsidian. Prepare full chests of different materials to be able to sell when someone wants to buy something.
    4. Making money takes some time and you better focus on getting and selling items rather than yelling on forums, nobody will change rules to make game easier just because somebody is whining.
    5. Prepare to at least one month of hard work. Be patient and good luck with your town.

You ended up digging your suggestion into its own grave and now, I really don't see this happening after all the constructive discussion.

    Locked.
