Hello, my fellow ImDeity players! I propose, to the ImDeity staff, that we input an excellence/loyalty reward program. What I mean by this is that long-time players (e.g. 6 months+) may receive special tags, denoting their continued loyalty to the server. Also, players who show continuous helpfulness (But may not quite be ready or eligible for mod just yet) may receive a special tag next to their name indicating their reliability. The theory behind these Awards is that they would encourage helpfulness and provide an overall better, friendlier server.

    Examples:

A player who has been 30 days playing time will most likely know the ins and outs of the server, as well as Minecraft. This player would receive a yellow [V] beside their name (Standing for Veteran). New players joining the server who see this [V] know that the player is a reliable source of information and can expect to learn much from these players.

For extremely helpful players, they may be rewarded with a yellow [*] next to their name. These players would be recommended by current moderators who see that they are helpful in-game. Every week/month, recommended players are voted upon.

    Point Form Notes:

    - Loyal players receive yellow [V]

    - Helpful players receive yellow [*]

    - Player of the week/month awards

    - Multiple-time Excellence Awards Winners receive multiple yellow [*]

    - ImDeity staff not eligible for awards (They get other things for being helpful ^_^)

    - Possible winners of Excellence Awards recommended and decided upon by staff

Yes i do like this :D After being here a for a while i think it can come naturally wanting to feel recognized as someone who actually knows my way round. I have had a constant times when ive been talked to like i joined yesterday via someone who has 4 days online :p I dont want to sound mean or cocky or anything just think that it is nice when people can see who they should look for help other than mods and admins as they are often busy with tickets etc.
    good job Ctt :D

but i also have the feeling that something like this won't be implemented ahah :p

    I love this idea! <3
A good thing about it is that it would encourage players to be more helpful.

for the Loyalty/Excellence Award Program to work the sever would need to have a good amount of group projects for people to register. but with that added in i think it would people a good idea to motivate people to come together and work for a common goal.

I think it's a great idea, but in the latter case, not terribly practical. Anything which involves a select few (in this case admins/mods) awarding something to people being helpful requires them to be online, and paying attention, and have time to do so. If that's in any way associated with almost a 2nd level of moderator-ness ("these people are helpful and who knows maybe one day they'll get promoted"), then the people who would most usefully become new moderators (i.e. online when staff generally aren't) are the people least likely to get *s, precisely *because* they're not online when it would be useful to have staff on.

I think it could be interesting for anyone to be able to nominate/thank/acknowledge people who have been particularly helpful, and that could very well become a useful tool for staff to pick new mods from, but then the practicalities of implementation become more complex.

Also, how to distinguish between a player who first connected 8 months ago, didn't play for the last 6 months, and just came back.. or a player who's only been around for 1-2 months but plays 16 hours a day and knows the server inside out within a week? Loyalty/Veteran is a more complex definition than it may first appear...

(Sorry to be picky. I think there's a great potential in the idea, just that the specifics need a lot of thought.)

yes i understand this, i would suggest that the program use /res played time, but loosen up the specifics, someone who has a played time of 6 months would have to have played for nearly a year, assuming he plays half a day which i know most people do not. i would suggest cutting the 6 months played time to 3 months played time then we should have a way to find out if they actually have done anything of signifigance, make sure they have perhaps helped in building something major, assistant of a town, hard worker have many resources and sell them, etc. as long as they just dont sit there the whole time and do nothing, i dont see that as excellence. they should also be active in the community, helping people who ask it and answering questions that people say in help chat, so that moderators dont have to do everything.

3 months is still 90 days and Im sure most the server does not have the patience or time to get this and those who do would be eligible but 90 days is a tremendous amount of time to play, I say rather then 3 months a genuine 30+ days of online playing time would be just fine for the [V] title.

    And another note...
Instead of just being a tag, why cant we get these titles implemented into the /r code to display next to a persons name, like banned, veteran, trusted, mod, admin, etc.

Nice idea, however few tweaks will be necessary:

I agree with Rillaith that 6 month since joining doesnt say much about player. If "Veteran" status would be awarded for some 1000+ hours online, then it would be more accurate.

And visual part - i consider current chat very hard to read. Adding more colored [V], [*] or [whatever] tags will make chat looking even more chaotic.

Maybe not how long you have been a member, maybe more play time, so you can't just be offline for a year, then look respectable.

Instead of 6 months registered, how about x amount of days online? Or on the forums? *winks at admins*. I'm looking at you deity for this! *nudge nudge cough cough*

it is certainly a nice idea, but i think adding more tag-like things could actually confuse new players more.

Hello my name is derp, let me introduce myself!

I joined your server a years ago, and stopped playing after an hour or two. Oh, and I got a veteran tag. If you'd change that into time in game, then forum beast would not profit. Nor is a veteran someone who has logged in a specific amount of hours, knowledge> experience.

I like the idea of offering real veterans, or helpfull people something, however you would lose alot of helpfull people on the simple fact that mods don't look at chat 24/7/ and I have a feeling it would be too much of a popularity fest, there are plenty of people who wouldn't want anything then to suck up more to the staff. There is way too much of that already. No thank you.
