    The eggs in this game need to be able to spawn chickens in order to make a farm.

    in truth, i believe this is a nesisity, for making arrows is easiest with a chicken farm for feathers

    If every one of the thousand new players a day made a farm with 10 chickens, we would have millions of chickens running around the server. This would create HUGE amounts of lag, and make the game unplayable. Chickens are useless if lag makes it so you cannot move a block without waiting 30 seconds.

    Eh.. you don't need to spawn chickens via eggs.. you can make a farm if you apply a little bit of effort. Just hold a piece of wheat and lure the chickens into a farm. Please don't go and do something dumb like create a gigantic swarm of chickens. Keep it practical. If you abuse them then you'll screw the system for everyone else.

    yea there doesnt have to be a farm neccesarily there are a couple chickens i saw just around the server herd them to your farm

    I have a stack of eggs just from wandering about, no farms involved. It isn't all tha hard, just follow some chickens around or something.

    if we had all those animals in farms roaming around the place people would be lagging so bad, u decide animals or lag ,personnally i would prefer no lag and anyway its not hard to find animals all you need to do is explore!

    From what Ive seen, skellies drop arrows so that rules out the need for chickens in that aspect. Ive found that animals spawn quite quickly in the mining world. Plenty of cows, pigs and sheep there. I rarely see chickens though. With the current animal spawning, I'd suggest culling animals as you come across them. If its a cow, milk it first then *ahem* make some nice beef burgers. If it's a sheep, once the wool is gone, that animal is useless to you. Chickens are the only ones I wouldnt kill as they're a renewable source of eggs ;) It's only good animal husbandry.
