Stuck on "/nine" world.

Hey y'all, I've recently been having a problem with connecting to the server. It lets me log in when using 1.9, but when I got to 1.8, I get the following error message. I've tried restarting both my game and computer. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: This only occurs on /main, it's not my version. I can access creative, and the other worlds, just not main.

UPDATE 2.0: It was a corrupted chunk in the wild.

 

Nine world is for the 1.9 version of the game. Main is on the 1.8 version, you need to change your version to go on main world.

 

That seems like the easiest option, so go for it.

 

The wild is corrupted again, and I've been kicked. Again... I would say do a reset, but all my enchanted diamond tools are in my inventory.

 

I just did /wild.

 

Try Minechat app - it doesn't load any block data, it just places your avatar ingame on X,Y,Z where you previously disconnected, and lets you use chat and commands. So log in and type /main or /t spawn or whatever can move you into safe place. Beware - Minechat doesn't prevent from being killed by mobs.

(EDIT: err... forget about Minechat for now - it already updated to 1.9 so it would connect to [nine] world only)

Do you remember the terrain/biome around the /wild spawn? Did you walk some distance before you got kicked?

 

If you happen to be in the situation where you can log on, but you get kicked in less than a second, you can try typing '/main' as soon as you appear (typing it as fast as possible). It would be quite difficult, and would require many tries, but I've managed to do it a few times.

 

You can still connect to 1.8 though. I had it set to automatic, and it connected me to 1.8. But you can set it to choose 1.7, 1.8 or 1.9.
Just go to the settings (in-app), choose the server, and in there, choose server version.

 

The problem seems to be related to signs. MidnightDingo got caught in this mess as well. He said the error occurred when he was in the southern wilderness. I sent one of my alts over there to see if that did occur, and the error seems to originate in the vincinity of /wild south. According to this post on Spigot https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/er...-big-was-32789-bytes-encoded-max-32767.71401/ on the 12th post in that thread it says that "A hack client out right now allows you to place a sign which the line goes over the max string buffer Minecraft can handle." The person also said that updating the server to 1.8.7 or later version prevents them from making such signs. As for removing those bad signs, they suggest rolling back the affected area or worldediting out all signs in the affected area. Finally, to get people out of those affected areas, they should log into Minechat and have teleport to spawn enabled, it saved my alt from not being able to log in.
