I have a few questions about the ranking up system used for Creative. 1: It says to rank up you need to "build good", What do you mean by that? Be creative? Use a many different types of blocks? Build how the mods like it? Since by "building good" wouldn't that be completely bias? Since it could look amazing in one persons eye and horrible in another.2: I want to know what "a variety of blocks" means. Since for my last creative build, I used mainly different colors of clay and some soul sand. It was denied and I got a message saying to use a variety of blocks. Does that mean to use different blocks, not just colors? Or does it mean to use more blocks that POP out?3: I would like to know how much creativity effects your plot review. Since would building something original give your points a boost more than a good looking stereotypical house? Thanks for reading

Not applicable. That is why multiple mods have to review, and everything is done by guidelines as well.

As to your concerns, Tallpines, 1: I can't find where "build good" is from, so I would point you to the Great Construction section of this thread. As for the rest of your concerns with it, I would consult the rank 2+ section of that thread. 2: Block variety generally should increase as you rank up. If you have a nether theme, everything will come down to how well you build. Still, I would recommend adding in some of the darker blocks not native to the nether for block variety count. It isn't something that will fail you on its own, but increased variety helps. 3: Creativity helps, but it is all about how you execute it. That being said, as you go higher in rank and have more plot space, we will notice if every single house is the exact same. That tends to not work in your favor.

This is something I have brought up with Deity before, but will have to remind him of again to see where we stand on it. I would like to add a subsection to the Creative forums where people can post up their builds and get community and general feedback on their constructions, or even just show off a build they are really proud of. (This is taken from LordStormKnight's post here.)

You're thinking too far into it. Your questions that you bring about would be questions that I would only bring about if I wanted to be a troll or, for lack of a more appropriate word, d-bag (very often). Notice I'm not saying you're trolling, though. If you're building for someone else's approval, you're doing it wrong. You build in creative for you, not to impress the mods. Many people see that last creative plot as their goal, that's when they'll start building for themselves, but they'll do the bare minimum to get that plot. I find that silly :p, and in most cases (referring to plot review) not very fulfilling to you or to the mod reviewing it. So literally, you do you, don't worry about the rest.

Don't do this. If a mod denies your build, build better. I like to go to google images and search castles or minecraft builds to get inspiration. My other option, which I use just as much as google images, is heading over to Barry's plot and stealing some of (a lot of) his ideas.

Plus, IF I were a mod and I had varying moods, I would still deny the plots that should be denied. Ex) If I were angry, I'd deny a bad plot after criticizing it verbally to myself and feed my anger. Ex2) If I were happy, I'd laugh at the plot and then deny it, feeding my happiness. This is the only way I see emotions playing a part; How your plot is denied.

This thread although not exactly what i was looking for might actually be the answer to my question. I was just wondering about the craft class where it says to have a level 3 creative and was wondering how do you rank up, is it like you said with being judged on your build and said rank applies or is it something different?

I thought my build was pretty impressive for rank 1. Turns out I needed more furniture/interior items. I have added that, now I hope I can level up as I would really like to start on my next build!!!! Please Mods... be kind for my first one. Thanks.

You put it up for review. Plots are looked at fairly regularly, whenever a moderator gets free time. If you feel your plot isn't getting reviewed quickly enough (I ask you give it about three days before acting) or that your plot keeps getting denied and you don't know why, make a post in this forum asking for other players to give you advice or suggestions, or even just say what they like/dislike. It's an easy way to draw attention to your plot, and others might come up with some pretty good inspiration for you to use.

When your plot is accepted or rejected you get an in game mail. /c info should also provide you with how many accepts/rejects you currently have.

Hi, I have searched the forums, but I can't seem to find the answer. Once I put my plot up for review, and if and when it is liked/approved and I rank up to the next higher plot, and then I claim larger plot, what happens with my original plot? is it destroyed or is it kept as is? Thanks.

Kept searching, and have the answer now. have a look at my first build if you like. I kinda like it

When you rank up your previous plots/builds stay where they are and can't be edited anymore. You can visit them with '/c tp [name] [rank #]'
