    Anyone know WHY it's actually disabled? I mean there are many great resources in the nether, such as glow stone, an abundance of lava, netherack, soul sand, etc. I mean, a portal in the capital, you know... so people can go and harvest resources, maybe even set up another city in the nether... Anyone agree?

    i am not positive but the nether could cause more lag on the server.

    Yes. The Nether is a serious situation when it comes to lag. They already have 3 worlds and I don't think a 4th would 'help'.
    Even though the Nether is fun to mess around in it also brings a couple rare items to the world of ImDeity.

    All the nether currently gives us is Glowstone, Netherack, Soul Sand, and some lag. Maybe once they add something of substance to the nether, I could see it being added, but right now (even though I do so love glowstone) It is pretty useless.

    Honestly, even the new additions to the nether that have been announced don't seem like enough to add it.

    Just my opinion though. :)

    I think once the full 1.9 comes out it will give reason for The Nether to be added.

    ZombieTurtleMan. Netherrack prices will go down a lot.
    People would make farms.
    And it would cause lag.
    Then too many meatboys would be left in the wilderness.

    I think it would be good and bad.

    Good: Glowtone! Lava! Nice items! Nether Cities!

    Bad: Lagg. 'Glowtone! Lava! Nice items!' would be less expensive. People would mine blocks under people and push them into the lava. There could be MANY bugs. And the stargate one could be affected.

    I would and wouldn't like the nether to be added to this server...although someone could make a mini nether in the real world... For the nether experience!

    The reason why the nether has been disabled is that it causes more lag and takes up server space ( about + 0.5 what we have now), and it doesn't add anything substansial to the game. Therefor it's fairly useless.

    It seems in upcoming versions of Minecraft, the nether is going to have alot more variety of resources, many of which will be needed for enchanting and potions. So it might be necessary to add the nether.

    zombie pigmen are going to start dropping gold nuggets that can be made into gold bars, maybe that would cause inflation?

    Hmm I always thought it would be cool to allow the Nether to work...but if it's going to cause more lag eh..I don't really think it's worth it =S
